Hello everyone. I stopped using AC almost a year ago now and moved to Practice Better. Since I hardly ever log into it anymore I would like to move it off my server to another machine. What would be the best way to do this and what services/programs can I then get off my server. The server is running SBS2011.
Thanks! Scott

AC gonna charge you $500.00 to move 11.1 to another machine 'security issues' is the claim so can't do it yourself maybe there's a way to move it without AC involvement that James or Sandeep knows about?, Probably cheaper to buy another hard drive to put into your server.

I can convert your AC database and imported items to PDF files, one per patient, for you. This way you can walk away from AC. Email me for specifics if interested. Email is in my profile.

AC has gone to "password protection" so it is no longer a plug and play by the individual user. It would be hard for anyone to break this password system so I don't think even as good as James or Sandeep are they will able to help you hack.
I had a problem 2 years ago and had to get a new PC for the server. AC support had to transfer the data because it is now protected. They did not charge me when I needed to do this because of having the guardian angel support. I do not like how they have started to charge for everything separate!

I'll send you an email.
Also, I have AC installed on it's own drive on the server. I can't just pull the drive and stick it in another computer or is it hardware specific?

Unfortunately, you cannot just move the drive with the AC database and imported items to another server. AC would have to be installed on that server and that's still calling AC and being charged and having to maintain their program on the new computer.

Miss the days of being able to do things yourself. I understand the reasoning but was nice to take care of it and not wait for someone else or have to pay.
I guess same as not being able to work on your own car.....progress.....less understandable, my opinion.
