I am suggesting that we c reate a list of supported scanners. I needed to get a new one, bought a Fujitsu scansnap ix 1300 because we have a fi6130 which does work with AC. Found out that they use proprietary drivers and do NOT use twain drivers. Please anyone chime in with their supported scanners. Thank you.

We still use a Fujitsu 6130 for the "big stuff". You can still buy these as refurbished units. Just be careful some do not come with the software and the online downloads will no longer work. Or at least we could not get them to work.
I have a Brother ADS 1700W for the front desk for ID and insurance cards but it can also do regular paperwork and is very fast. It was very easy to set up.
We also have a Brother FAX/Copy/Scan machine the MFCL 2740DW next to the other desk up front. This machine works as our fax as well as can be a scanner. It is slower than the Fujitsu or the dedicated Brother scanner but does work well. We still do urine dip sticks in the office and some other waived labs and these are documented on paper then scanned into the chart. This scanner and front staff person is responsible for these.

Thank you for the info. I think I will purchase the ADS 1700W.

Welcome, hope it works for you as well as it does for us. Great for ID's and insurance cards.

You can setup the Scan/Save to Folder with the ScanSnap software rather than using a TWAIN driver. Basically you push the button and it pops up into the folder where you can drag and drop into the patients Imported Items.
My personal preference is for the Brother ADS network series. Can be programmed to scan directly to a network share or over SFTP for remote offices. Great for security in an RDS applications since the computer itself doesn't need access to a shared folder. No computer required.
