Does anyone know how to format an outbound AC prescription to fit on the quarter page official NYS prescription paper? When I asked for an 8.5 by 11 official script pad for use in a printer, a full sheet of perforated paper was sent to me with only 1/4 of the page being formatted for writing the prescription. This needs to go live as of April 2006 and will not be formatted correctly with how AC currently generates prescriptions.

Dr. Jon and Carlos at tech support promise us that they are hard at work making AC NYS compatable and I keep bugging them to get it to us yesterday. My wife Nancy (my Doc) is convinced that the present AC Rx's with the funky rectangular DAW box on the far lower left is already NYS non compliant for today, no less next month. So I want the upgrade now, because she is entering all the Rx's in the chart but then hand writing them instead of printing them. Very time wasting. They promise it's coming, but the more NYS'ers that bug them to get it out I would gather the better. I'm the one who brought it to their attention and got them in touch with the proper folks at the NYS dept of Health. A Mr. Sicko, I kid you not...go figure. Also, there's a person on another subject talking about using two trays or printers, one for all regular jobs and one for Rx's only. I would love to be able to have AC know that and set and forget that so we don't constantly print to the wrong source and waste lots of those Official NYS Rx forms. Lastly, Carlos told me to the order the "one Rx to a quarter page" forms, and that those should be compatable with the update. There are also "four Rx's to a page" versions, but I guess those won't fly. I just want the update already so we can knock it around now and be ready come D-day. Best of luck...Paul

I'm Beta testing Version 3 and it appears to have fixed this problem with prescriptions requirements from different states.

What are the size formats available in Beta 3 for Florida?
Currently I am using 8.5x11" security paper, one rx per page.
I am running low on security paper and need to place my bulk reorder.
Thanks, ...KenP

I am also thinking of becoming a user here in NY and I am concerned about prescription printing. I could not find that the NY format is supported on the free trial (I am using the V3 beta version). Can anyone tell me if NYS prescriptions are printable?

If you go to the admininistrator options (frm VIEW drop down list), you'll find a number of settings/preferences. You can select NYS prescription form as your default. Good luck.

I am considering using AC. I noticed that the last NYS Rx post was from June. Is it working? Now it is two days later. It works well (the Rx came in 4 days nonrush!). For people considering it the Rx sheets from NYS have only the barcode, pharmacist test area, and "NYS offical Rx" at the top. Order 1/page and will send you 2000 pages. Very easy.

Hey it's working just great. We were one of the first offices in our area (possible our state) that were filling the new NYS compliant Rx's on our EMR. Like the others have said, just go to the administrative options, I think it on the last tab to the right. I used some blank paper to print a few practice copies while aligning my printer, I layered the NYS paper behind the white paper and held it up to the light until I tweaked it the way we wanted it. Per Jon and NYS, you want to order the printer paper that has only one Rx to a page as opposed to the 4 to a page of stock. It's free (for now anyway) from NYS, but you need to set up an account with them. So you get stock that has a NYS Rx in the upper left hand corner and is blank on the other 3 quarters of the page, a bit of a waste, but it's perf'ed so it tears easy enough. We took an old small HP inkjet and use it exclusively for our Rx's and then we print all other things on our big boy...Works great. FYI, we keep that printer with the NYS offical Rx's in the back room so as to not let any of them walk in the wrong hands...Nancy loves it....Thanks Jon.... Paul
