Does anyone use Amazing Reminders to text patients? How is your experience?

We tried it for a few months back in 2018 and it did not work well for us. We were set up as 2 separate providers using amazing charts so it was confusing for the system. We also had patients complain that they were getting calls all hours of the night. AC refunded us some money and stopped the service. We started to try it again but just haven't up to this point. I would love to have something like this that works well. The dentists seem to have it figured out but not letting us in on the secret. I get emails, calls and texts from the dental office!

Hi Chris,
We are doing a 30 day trial right now, just started yesterday. I'll let you know how it goes. We're setting it up as just 1 reminder 2 days before the appt. If they don't confirm via Amazing Reminders, staff will call 1 day before the appt. In the system it does have a setting to limit messages from between say 9am and 7pm. Updox has an appt reminder service too. I would like to compare both before making a decision.

Please keep us posted! I would give it another try if someone else says they have a good experience. I was too frustrated with it after a month or so back in 2018 to try it again. I have thought about it but too busy with moving the office in 2019 and COVID starting in 2020.

Its function is limited but I guess it will relieve staff time a little bit. The worse part of Reminders is it doesn't block out the weekend. So if it's sent to send a reminder 2 days from the appt date, then Monday patients will get the reminder on Saturday.
Updox Reminders has more functionality - can block the weekend, different reminders each time. However, the confirms/cancellations just show up in Updox - it doesn't talk back to AC to change the appt status in the AC schedule. Updox reminders cost more than AC too.
We will probably use AC Reminders since it's directly interfaced with the AC schedule. If patients don't confirm via the reminder text, we will manually call them 1 day before to verbally confirm. I was hoping to eliminate that manual call but we still need it.

Thanks for the update. We are using Caretracker as our PM (billing) which interfaces with AC. I wonder if Caretracker has a pt reminder, will have to check and let you know.

BTW, Chris, we're going to keep using Amazing Reminders. The updox version has more functionality but because we use AC for scheduling, AC Reminders works better with it. The cost is $49/month for 500 messages.
