Someone tell me I am the only one seeing this. Are there actually advertisements when you log in? That can't be good. I don't know if anyone follows this, but I usually change all SHOUTING in titles of questions. Here it is called for. Maybe I missed something.

Yes, they've been there for a couple of months now. I'm not sure if they're tailored to your practice or specialty, but we get ones for MS & headache meds.

Weird, because I doubt they target them. Maybe it's because I start mine up 10 times a day instead of once. LOL. I think I would rather pay $50 annually than have them. Have they changed your physicians' prescription practices?

I believe these went in with V11 and were in the release notes. If you notice the login screen got a little bigger then (to accommodate). I am not sure if they are tailored to your practice or not. Chris C would have more information on that.

They've not had any impact on his MDM regarding medications.

I noticed them with version 11. There is another thread about them somewhere...... They have not changed my prescribing and can say that I rarely even notice they are there. Sometimes they don't show up, no idea why. I just logged out of one of the desktops, signed back in and no banner ad. (wanted to see if there was an ad and what it is for) Usually only logging in once daily.

Hi Chris, Here's the original thread from August 10th where Josue asked if there was a way to turn off the login advertisements: https://acusersforum.com/ub/ubbthre...-has-version-11-upgrade-helped#Post77164Bert replied that he couldn't see any ads. Then Mark at AC assured Bert that the ads were real, but refrained from adding that they're fabulous. Josue then posted a screen-shot that only showed a white box where the ads sometimes appeared and wondered if they weren't available just then. Compared to programs that pop up in the middle of typing, mere login ads seem tame. Cheers, Carl Fogel

Well, you know me. I wouldn't have this many posts if I weren't so opinionated. I have used a lot of free software. And, I have paid for a lot of the same software to help the owner/coder and to get rid of the ads. The ads in that software have a purpose. Besides getting some money from the advertisers, it encourages or pushes people to buy their software.
I find it interesting that we have ads that target us and we are already paying for the software. Is it a small thing? Maybe. Is it annoying? Yes.

Thanks Carl. I knew I remembered a conversation regarding the ads. I had not had them until version 11. I do and have had the white banner box but no ads. I saw ads for awhile but not seeing them now when I log in so not sure what is going on. I agree with you, an ad on log in does not bother me as much as if it came up while I was typing in the chart. If an ad came up while I was going over labs with a patient looking at the computer, that would be a deal breaker for the program.

Love the play-by-play, Carl!
Although the login-style ads are not that startling IMHO, the fact that AC was never ad-supported and then, bam, now it is with no warning (who reads the release notes when you are being forced to upgrade) is quite startling.
If I recall, you can contact support to turn them off in the backend but why not just make it a user-controllable switch under preferences?

I find it hard to believe that advertisers would think what they pay is worth the advertisement. I for one, will go out of my way not to use any of the drugs that are placed in the login. I would rather have them pop up. Ad supported software is generally for software that is no cost to the consumer. Once you are paying for the software, one expects to not have ads. It's tacky.

Just a reminder, if ads do bother you that much you can contact support to have them turned off. Support will run a script on your database to disable the link.

Never saw that movie, NOT sure I want those! Might reveal the true identity of some people I know as well as see the ads!
