Maybe....we will have a subforum of the month, although Ruben may have to set it up, because I don't think I did it correctly. This month it is NewCrop, which was bad to start with and getting worse all the time. Aren't there a ton others we could work with including DrFirst?

I am even their pseudo physician advisor....middle management listens, but they have no power. Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I've noticed that more eRx seem to be failing delivery. They end up being faxed to the pharmacy instead. So we send at 3:30 and it says they received at 4:30 by fax. Patients used to eRx being there right away are calling us saying pharmacy never got the Rx.

Hi Serene,

This is a VERY rare occurrence for us, I will post if we have any reports of this.

Thanks

I didn't even know it would fax anymore if it didn't eRx.

So I saw it happen 2 times since installing 11.1.1. I never noticed this happening before this version, so I thought it might have to do with the upgrade.

My understanding is that there is a contractual arrangement between AC and NewCrop.
It must be a very favorable arrangement for AC for them to stick so tenaciously to a vendor that so consistently leaves users unhappy.

I think it was a long contract and AC may not have known what they were getting into. You would think NewCrop/Surescripts would be able to produce a product that would work. What I find interesting is that new meds take forever to get into the system. I have talked to reps and they say other office will use Surescripts and not have any problems with the new meds hitting the system. So I wonder if this is a problem with Surescripts, NewCrop or AC. An Example is Arexvy the new RSV vaccine. I tried last week to prescribe and still not in the system. I did look this morning and it is there now.

I should know this but where is the report of if it faxed or electronic?

I have had this same experience. I have always blamed NewCrop, but maybe that is incorrect.

New med database lags are a bit extreme. I bet AC only "pays" for yearly update. It could probably be done more regularly with some grease (money).

That may be true.
The relationship between AC and NewCrop is a private corporate one. I understand that. On the other hand, for users this is a huge black box into which we cannot see. We have little or no idea about the nature of the relationship nor exactly who is responsible for what.
That does not serve us well.

Surescripts does many things but it is also the backbone of eRx. It is like the internet where AllScripts and NewCrop are like Time-Warner and Cox cable taking info up to Surescripts.

Thanks for the clarification, so NewCrop needs more 'channels' when the new drugs hit the market.

It is very confusing. I know it has a lot to do with the EMR, NewCrop and Surescripts. I was a pseudo-physician advisor to New Crop for quite some time. As such, I was able to get inside information on everything. The inside person has since left, and I have not been fired, just no longer needed.
