Can somebody shed some light on what is the preferred way to upgrade you hardware?
I currently have a machine running SBS2011 which has been rock solid, but I will now migrate to a Win10 machine which will suffice.
The existing hardware is running v10. I think I should upgrade in place to V11 and then migrate to the new hardware.

What is the best way to transfer the data? Is it backup/restore utility in AC?
Can I just copy the imported items directory to the new AC installation?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Al,

To migrate to new HARDWARE requires AC to "credential" the new hardware.

You can probably upgrade to v11 on the old machine and workstations yourself, but I believe you will have to schedule the migration with AC.

Probably "Backup NOT excluding imported items" and then "Restore from backup" on the new machine, but if AC support is involved they can advise you on that.

AC support is swamped now, perhaps you can get by with the upgrade on the old hardware until after 9/1 and the change hardware after that (if AC support is too busy until that time)

Good luck!

Hi Al,

You are right where I was a week ago. Basically our server was messed up, the upgrade did not go well on that, so were now running off an i7 work station.

Really really pleased with version 11. No crashes at all, electronic prescribing works well and the prescription window is much faster than it had been.

Over all very pleased.
