The option is on the patient's demographics page, at the top under "File". I attached instructions to this post (hopefully it worked. First time I used the attach function here). One thing to note is the process is not reversible, so you need to make sure you are merging the correct patients in the correct order. Only way to reverse it is to restore a backup.
Hope this helps

... make sure you are merging the correct patients in the correct order.
Hi Mark, what is the correct order? - Merge the newer chart into the older (created first) chart - Merge the smaller chart into the bigger chart (with more encounters/data)?
The chart you open will be merged INTO the new chart you select and deactivated. The one you select as the RECEIVING chart will become the primary chart. Be careful as this is a 1 time deal.

The patient's expectation is that you have all the answers, sometimes they just don't like the answer you have for them
Serene, ok so I didn't know how, but I brought up that it could be done. So, I get 10-style points. (and a couple of extra posts)
PS to Mark. I would never have looked in demographics.
@ Mark. We had a patient, put in demographics only. Then did the other chart and did two notes. I tried to just take the demographics out of the non-used chart. It let me take everything out but the name.
In the vein of useful things I didn't know existed. There is a setting in Misc. preferences (in Administrative Options) to turn on "display DOB in patient list and allow search by DOB." I don't know when this became available but I just found it when upgrading to 11.1. So now we can type in the DOB to search for patients. So useful.
