Is there a way to have Direct Mail messages/documents go directly into AC?
A lot of hospitals send us discharge summaries via Direct Mail which goes to my personal email. I don't have time to deal with it so the info never gets into the chart. Has anyone else found a simple solution to the problem? I suppose that I could have the Direct Mail go to my medical assistant and let her deal with it but it still would be labor intensive.

Discharge info also known as Transition of Care info from v 10 should come to the provider inbox in the AC chart. From there the provider can import into the chart with one click of the button same way as a lab is imported. The only intermediate step is reconciling the patient in the discharge data file to an exact matching patient in the AC if it is not a 100% match.

Thanks

Yes, Aramiz, we get Transition of Care info, but it's often incomplete. In order to get to AC someone has to fax me the document. In looking at my Direct Mail inbox and comparing to my Imported Items I see that a number of documents never made it to AC. I suspect the problem is on the hospital side. It seems that sometimes the hospital faxes the document and sends via direct mail and sometimes just via direct mail.

Can not agree more.

And worse, sometimes hospitals skip on sending the discharge info to the PCP on file.

Yes, we have Updox so anything that's faxed to us gets to Updox and then we put on the chart. What would be great is if we could have Direct Mail go to Updox. Does anyone know if this can be done?

What do you mean by Direct Mail? Is it the same as direct address? We had to set up direct address in AC/Updox in April due to that information blocking law. We haven't received any message through it yet but it would come through Updox.
