I doubt many will remember me. I used to be active here in the halcyon days when I had Amazing charts. For 7 years I have been on the island of Saipan in a public hospital, using an old demo version of the Indian health Service version of the VA version of RPMS. Horrible. But, it is about to get worse. We are close to having to change to Careview, a somewhat "customized" product (our needs are weird) that has been "customized" with little or no input from those of us who actually need to use it for patient care. Last week, for example, it was "Print a prescription? No, there is no function to allow for that. Why would you need to print a prescription? Why do you need a place to put this 'social history' as you call it? We have a button that says whether or not they smoke. What else could you possibly need to document? Why would you care if they had their appendix out in 1997?" They have been working on this for 3 years. We are supposed to "go live" in 6 weeks.
No matter how frustrated you might become, please take a moment to take a deep breath and realize how lucky you are to have Amazing Charts, that was started by a physician.

David,
Of course we remember you, there are still some of us long term users here. It’s good to hear from you!
I am sorry to hear of your impending EMR hell.

Great to hear from you again Wow, what a waste of resources. Hope they listen to your complaints.

Yeah, Dave, why should we remember you? We have so many docs who made great contributions to this board while practicing and Alaska, who then moved to Saipan... You are memorable on multiple counts.
Agree that it is good to hear from you, if only as proof that EMR problems are world-wide.
If you can, please keep in touch. Did you ever get any feedback on what happened in the area of your old practice in Alaska?

Hi Dave,
Hell, even I remember enjoying your posts about moving to the other side of the Pacific.
***
Sadly, your description of your new EMR's problems reminds me of "Yes, Prime Minister":
James Hacker : May I remind the Secretary of State for Defence that every problem is also an opportunity? Several Ministers : Hear, hear! Sir Humphrey Appleby : I think that the Secretary of State for Defence fears that this may create some insoluble opportunities.

Good luck with the "opportunities" presented by your new program.
Cheers,
Carl Fogel
