Hey All,

So I've been tasked to start utilizing the Decision Support functionality on AC, and I've run into a pickle, mostly relating to the "Risk Factors" portion. As of right now, I've figured out how to access the risk factors window, but the included risk factors are hilariously incomplete.

Just for an example, I need to build a decision support category for prostate cancer screenings. For normal people, ACS recommends all men 50-70 get screenings every two years. Simple enough to build. But for people who are high risk, which includes African Americans, they should start at 45 years old. But there's no way to define the ruleset to include people of that race. Or people with direct family history of prostate cancer. I'm going mad trying to figure this out.

So, is there any way to actually define custom risk factors?

Hi Scott,

Usually I can find work arounds for most anything in AC, but in this case I do not believe there is a solution. The "Risk Factors" section in AC is static and cannot be customized by the practice. I also looked into the conditions for CDS rules and race/ethnicity is missing there as well. I will send this along to our Product Team to see if this is something that can be added to the list.
