As is generally the case, the state changed its website for PMP. Prescription Monitoring Program. Under the old system I had three delegates who could look up data on the PMP. Very helpful to have staff with that ability.

With the new site, I carried over but my delegates were gone, and I could not find them. So, I wrote to megov.rxgov or something like that. They said the delegates are all deleted and you have to do a search. I did a search, but couldn't find them. Then they said, you can't just search for them, they have to go in and register themself and then I can search them. Now , the search has four required fields:

Delegate's first name:

Delegate's second name:

Delegate's DOB

and lastly

Is the delegate human, non-human or both.

It defaults to All, so I just left it there in case one of my MAs is non-human and I just didn't have that question on the interview form. (I changed my interview questions today)

So, I emailed and asked and they said it was because some who use the PMP are veterinarians. So, that begged the question, aren't veterinarians generally human?

The support tech told me, "Oh I thought you meant the search on the patients" I stopped there.

Humans are sooo expensive these days.

R1D3 was expensive to purchase but no FICA or overtime or vacation.

It's interesting they're finally allowing non-humans can interact with their systems. They must be considering overhauling their systems to run with non-human labor

With the sequel servers to Star Wars, does R1D2 become R1D3? I honestly don't know.

But, the tech is going to elevate the question to the Development team.

I guess vets would administer Ketamine and pain meds to animals. But, wouldn't that PMP entry be entered under the owner's name? I mean a dog can't really fill dogoxy early, can it?

I mean how many Susan Lookings DOB 1/2/1978 are there in the state. That should be enough of a query.

Hi Bert,

"I guess vets would administer Ketamine and pain meds to animals. But, wouldn't that PMP entry be entered under the owner's name? I mean a dog can't really fill dogoxy early, can it?"

Normally I wouldn't chime in on medical matters . . .

But I do know that vets sometimes have to do odd things to write prescriptions.

I once had to pick up a controlled no-refill pain-killer prescription from my vet for "Dog Fogel"--the pharmacist finally called my vet to confirm things.

But that was so long ago that I haven't got the paperwork.

However, I do have this 2019 finasteride rx receipt for a Colorado basset hound with a prostate problem:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/78s9etcjec1jci2/moses_rx.JPG?dl=0

Elsewhere, it says "NO REFILLS - DR. AUTH REQUIRED" and lists Moses's address and telephone number, which he shares with his brother, Elliott.

(And with me, too, though my name doesn't appear anywhere in the welter of official details.)

Shamefully, the rx didn't list the number on Moses's rabies tag, so almost any basset hound could have waddled into the pharmacy and left with a dangerous drug.

However, it did warn Moses to keep his pills out of reach of children and pets.

Of course, somewhere in the bowels of the bureaucracy my name may appear in connection with the prescription, but it certainly didn't appear on any of the paperwork that I handled.

Cheers,

Carl Fogel

No, my Moses's problem wasn't parting the Red Sea, it was stopping the red pee.

Luckily, the finasteride, three kinds of anti-biotics, and castration fixed things, as the veterinarians say.
