Hi everyone,
Does Amazing Charts still have the mandatory update by the end of this year? What date specifically?
Thanks.

Does anybody have, or remember, anything about this? I have been looking, and if I received emails or messages, I cannot find them.
I remember, around the beginning of this year, before all the Covid craziness, we were told that formats for electronic prescribing were changing. I believe Amazing Charts 10 would not be supported, 11 would be. I remember, perhaps, December 1, 2020 as being the deadline date for upgrading to version 11..
Not sure whether Covid has changed any of this. Anybody with any information? Thanks.

From an email from AC in March... "As you all may be aware, for security reasons pertaining to ePrescribing, all Amazing Charts customers will have to be on Amazing Charts Version 11.1 + prior to December 01, 2020 to continue the use of electronically sending prescriptions."
Of course that was long, long ago... in a different world. As noted on another thread, V11 is now "in beta" so if they stick to this, it looks like a rushed roll-out. Hopefully the date is pushed back.

Thanks Jon.
Which version are you using? Still peer to peer?
Thanks

10.0.2 and yes, still peer to peer
Reluctant to go to 11 based on the few reports we got here.

We just need a way to test it before committing to it.

I've been using 11 beta for almost 6 months now.
The biggest change is in the prescribing section,
You have to pick a pharmacy before you can even start to prescribe on a new patient or one that has never had an rx.
When you click on a previous rx, it will tell you which pharmacy it was previously sent to. I think it will automatically go back to that pharmacy but I'm not entirely clear (sometimes I think it randomly picks among the patient's default pharmacies.)
PET PEEVE 1) It requires that you put in the type of prescription (tablet vs capsule vs ... (the choice is about 50 different items on a drop down)) So far OK. BUT some Rxs never carry this over from the prior rx. You always have to click tablets (and go to the next box or it may not take) before prescribing or it will put up a box saying ignore or go back you have a problem. PET PEEVE 2) Now the prescriptions are in the lower right corner where they have to be approved. You have to choose a pharmacy and click a box so that all of them go to the same pharmacy (I have not found a default so they automatically go to 1 pharmacy unless you say otherwise) or you will have to check each prescription to make sure where the hell it is going. As long as you check that little box, all is good. OK on to the next step.. You click prescribe and go to the next page. At the top it has the patient's demographics (why do we care at this point). PET PEEVE 3) It will have the pharmacies only listed by Walgreens # 009945 or such. There is no way to figure out if this is the right one without cancelling and redoing this all over if you forgot to check earlier. This is totally different from before and very not intuitive.
The rest of the program is not much different. Overall not much in the way of crashes (I will occasionally get recurrent crashes that are usually solved by restarting the computer).
It uses as much memory as before. Speed is about the same. Start up may be a touch faster I had come early connection issues and I'm not sure if this was because of that version or there were network problems but none more recently. It works fine with ACPM, which we use.
Other than prescribing, which works, (it's just still not intuitive after 6 months), I think it's a good upgrade overall.
There are some new features, but honestly, I've been using it long enough that I don't remember what's new and what's not.

Terrific! Take one part of the program that saves time and is generally well liked, and upgrade it.... making it worse.
Can't wait to be forced to go to this version.

My suspicion is that this is some type of mandate, either from NewCrop or SureScripts.
But the execution is all theirs

Is AC listening to Beta testers? I agree wtih Wendell. Please implement his fix suggestions. For every one complaint there are likely hundreds of silent sufferers.
I believe the message bug were identified before by Beta testers but not fixed for release. AC use us we're here to help you!

Hi Dr. Gene. I just had someone on the phone from support and asked him about the mandatory update. He said the mandatory update will be to version 11 but version 11 is not available yet. Once available, they will send out a notice.

So here is part of my confusion.....
The following is a post from Chris Conrad at AC, posted in another thread late December 2019:
"The dates keep changing on us so it can be hard to keep up here..Since we're on premise software and thousand of users need to update we need to get this messaging out as soon as we can. There are 2 mandated versions involved here.
Version 10 and 10.2 has the latest TLS1.2 security enhancements..NewCrop (All - eprescribing) - is going to reject all e-prescription submissions lower than 1.2 sometime in Q1 2020 so everyone must be at this release to prescribe. We notified every practice multiple times in 2019 and we still have a large segment who have not updated so we're messaging everyone yet again. Those AC group inbox messages can be sent to specific practices based upon their release level but the yellow box goes to everyone so the messaging can get confusing. (It's the best method we have to notify practices from within AC at this time)
So if you're on 10 or 10.2 you're all set and will not be impacted by the TLS 1.2 security mandate in Q1 2020
Now comes the fun part...The entire industry is switching over to a new e-prescription format referred to as SCRIPT2017. CMS mandated that everyone transmit in this format by 1/1/2020 but only half the industry is ready so from now until 12/1/2020 Surescripts will be transforming the old (pre AC version 11) format to the new SCRIPT2017 for you before it hits the pharmacies. This is for all e-prescribing, not just EPCS.
Our SCRIPT2017 compliant version 11.1 is almost done and we'll be ready for beta in February, GA end if Q1 and everyone MUST update to this release before 12/1/2020 or your e prescriptions will be rejected.
Hope this helps clear up the confusion a bit
Happy Holidays,"
So back then the deadline was 12/1/2020.
Has CMS changed the timeline? Surescripts?? Or will we just have a mad scramble in November???
Thanks

It's been in beta for almost 6 months. probably delayed by the lock down. I hope CMS / Surescripts are making adjustments
