We had the very old Dymo label writer app working with AC& Win7, but since windows upgrade cannot get it to work. What are practices doing to quickly print specimen labels through the day ? thanks for ideas/process improvements Bill and richard AC practice #349 10.0.2 I can't mess with you anymore. It is my program. I believe I helped you set it up. I know all of this issues. PM me or email.

What label writer was that? I am confused. AC made a label maker? AC partnered with Dymo?
Are you referring to anything prior to:
8.7.3 / 8.0.0.12 and AC versions > v8, i.e. 9 and above?

Like any other app. When you upgrade your os then some may not work. Could be you went from 32 bit to 64bit os. Or just the os version. Meaning you need to update your app But anyway there is a upgraded version of Dymo label writer at: https://www.dymo.com/en-US/compatibility-chartOnly you will know which one to pick from for windows 10 You probably will need to uninstall the old label maker.version first. Before installing the new label maker.version. Plus since I have no clue how it interfaces with AC you may need to update settings in AC after. For it to export the data to the label maker. This is nothing unique to AC I have a whole box of application CD's that worked on windows xp and win7 and now most of them will not even install or run at all on win 10.

I will take a look at this. Bert, we originally got a little app written by an AC user that would access the AC demographics database and print labels to a dymo printer. But it was never AC endorsed/affiliated, I think we learned about it off the userboards maybe 10 years ago. Anybody else using this app [don't think it even had a name] for fast label printing ? thanks ! Richard

I think you still will have the same issue even with a app that is several years old if you find it.. Windows 10 was released: July 29, 2015
So any app developed prior is subject to issues with windows 10 And July 29,2015 was the initial release. Now in August 2020 we are going to get windows 11

I thought Windows 10 was going to just keep downloading new updates, upgrades and versions. That's really the only way to do it. I am not going to upgrade to a brand new OS. Until I am forced. I also thought they were going to move to a subscription service.

Well don’t panic yet Remember windows xp That was supposedly the last one Then we got windows 7 then windows 8 Then windows 10 which was free for win 7 and 8 So just wait and see what really happens I suppose that it will if it happens as scheduled it will be a optional update
I am just saying that old apps that worked prior to win 10 Probably need to be upgraded to be supported by newer os

@koby. Wow. We used to use Lytec until 2010. I just delete Win XP from our last computer that had it since we're upgrading to Win 10 and wanted to free up space. If anyone still had a balance from Lytec, well, they're forgiven now!

So getting back on track, either billfox has figured it out or doesn't want my help. I helped design the program, know the versions he needs, knows other information that he will need to use it. But, you have to come back and set something up.

So if you had an old version of AC running in a VM couldn't use use the old Dymo Printer program to print labels?

If you have anything pre 9 you could use it fine. If not, then you would need my help. But, if you have updated to 10 not only would you need my help, you would need the driver 8.7.3.46663, which can be hard to find. Another key is if you need to install on any new machine or v10 or higher, you will need to install that version and make sure you install everything, the entire app plus labels.
Basically, if you are having difficulties, you will require an IT engineer from Amazing Labels. That would be I.
