This is more of a "personal" issue but didn't know how else to get some help. I created a "makeshift" EMR program using filemaker and now I'd like to switch to something that does coding and document managament more efficiently without me coding and updating it all the time. I can export my fields to excel I was just wondering if there is a way to import them into amazing charts? If so, how do I go about doing this?

Converting your patient encounters should be possible, because Amazing Charts uses Access databases, and Excel files are easy to convert to Access databases.

However, this is something that Amazing Charts Technical Support would have to accomplish for you. I think Carlos would be the guy to talk to.

Let us know what they say. If they say they can't help you, there may be a Plan B.

By contrast, converting your old patient demographics and insurance information is simple, and there is a utility in Amazing Charts to convert an Excel file that way.

Have you run Amazing Importer yet?
Look in the AC folder, and run AmazingImporter.exe

You may have to play with it a while in order to get it to work properly. Read the Help File that automatically boots when you run Amazing Importer. It should walk you through the steps.

This will get your demographically data.
However I agree w/ Brian that the AC staff will need to walk you through converting your patient data such that it can be imported to the medical record.

The Amazing Importer works well, except that it needs an update -- it may not import every bit of demographic data you have without some fine tuning.

Also, the Excel file you input has to be absolutely clean -- all the data needs to be in the proper column, etc.

My database was a mess, and I had to spend weeks using Microsoft Access to clean it up before it could be imported.
