Anyone using version 10.2.0? I am currently on 10.0.2 and considering upgrade but want to know if the minimum 8GB ram recommendation on workstations and 16GB on server really needed. Currently workstations have 4GB ram and run 10.0.2 just fine. Also server has 16GB ram but I run AC 10.0.2 in a VM with 10GB ram allocated to the guest. Would I see significant changes/slowness with 10.2.0? Single doc practice. Win 10 pro on workstations and server host. Win2k8svr on VM guest OS.

10.2 doesn't require any more resources than 10.0. We just updated the minimum specs to me more in line with averages. If you're content with current performance you'll be fine on 10.2.

Thank you for response on resources.

I assume it is still ok to run win 2k8 svr in a VM as guest on server since the host is win 10 and updated regularly.

Last question is I read in other thread of the "message" bug/problem with the 10.1.x versions. Did all those get sorted out with 10.2.0? Or is there a future version coming soon that fixes that problem?

Nope, Server 2008 will be End of Life January 14, 2020. Nothing to do with AC. Microsoft will stop releasing security updates/patches for it.

Yes EOL is Jan 2020, but since run in a VM and does not access web environment (blocked internally) then should be fine since Win 10 host OS is only web accessible?

Depends on the level of blocks that are setup. If it really has no connection to the network (no eprescribing, filesharing, etc.) then you should be fine. No client machines accessing it. It's possible but unlikely you have it set up the way in which it would be safe. You would need to filter LAN traffic and Internet traffic out. Almost every ransomware released is exploiting the Windows Sharing (SMB Protocol, especially SMB1). Machines only need to be on the same network for it to spread.

However, it's pretty common for stuff like procedure machines (X-Ray, MRI, etc.) where you can't upgrade windows. SOP is to remove them from the LAN or move them to their own VLAN. Tons of people still use XP this way. Those procedure machines cost more than every machine in the office combined.

I did not hear any feedback on ffac inquiry with the stability of 10.2. Here is the ffac inquiry off his thread

"Last question is I read in other thread of the "message" bug/problem with the 10.1.x versions.
Did all those get sorted out with 10.2.0?
Or is there a future version coming soon that fixes that problem?"

Hello Chris C., could you please comment on this.

Any body who already deployed v 10.2, please share your thoughts.

We need 10.2 for MIPS 2019 reporting so wanted to get a sense on this before we dive in.

Regards
aramiz

10.2 is stable...We have hundreds of practices with no reports of problems other than that those we are already aware of including the message refresh bug we discussed on the other thread. 10.2 resolves all of the other message issues I described there as well...Check out the release notes on the portal for more info and also see the Known Issues for open bugs but they are not considered critical otherwise they would have been fixed in 10.2

Here are the 2 messages issue from that list:

Ability to mistakenly delete/Forward the improper message. If you have clicked on a message and it is displayed in the context window below, and the system auto-refreshes the message grid, which occurs every 15 minutes, the message at the bottom of the grid is highlighted and may be assumed to be active when in actuality it is the message you previously clicked and is still in context. If you manually refresh your inbox before selecting messages this will mitigate the issue until we can resolve it.

and

Clicking on the Messages Button does not refresh the message grid in the same manner as the manual Refresh button. Similar behavior with the highlighted message described above. The two buttons should effectively work the same.

Most AC users are in the habit of manually refreshing the message grid so very few users have reported it.

For the record there is one more release coming out very late this year and the focus is on the new e-prescribing format we have to start using in 2020 so it will be a mandatory release for everyone at some point. A few other minor enhancements like bringing back the appointment search button but nothing major.

Thank you so much Chris for articulating the open non-critical issues and assuring us on the stability of the code.

It means that we are a go to switch over to 10.2.

Have a great long weekend.

Thanks
Anwar

Mark@AC: NewCrop just informed us that there is an outage. They are investigating, but no ETA at this time.
koby: yes what a combo new crop and AC reliable as Amazon......NOT
Mnemonic: A lot of fake stuff on Amazon, Just saying.
koby: but they take it back....NewCrops fixed
Mark@AC: Updox System Issues An update has been posted We will be taking the application offline at 4:30 PM (Eastern) to perform emergency maintenance. The application will be down for approximately 1 hour.
AmazingDave: 10/14. Multiple eRx failures. Anyone else?
JBS: eRx not working for us this morning 10/15 630am Eastern
JBS: Looks like its related to the migration - we completed it by NewCrops apparently doesnt think so
beagle: updox is downdox again, 10/15
JBS: updox back up... now if we can just reach Ac to restore eRx
DocMark: eRx is up for us but slow, unworkable
BrotherJon: eRx issue for many. New Crop and AC working on it.
ChrisFNP: yep, refills have crashed twice today
Dr M @ EmmFamPr: newcrop down for us also; and we did the migration; unable to send anything electronically

beagle: anyone contact ac and get eta fix?
AMCS: Same
AMCS: This is from newcrop: New incident: Investigating We are currently investigating an error that may occur when attempting to transmit prescriptions. This is resulting in prescriptions remaining queued. Our engineers are working on resolution presently.
Bert: I am sure AC knows. It's probably a NewCrop issue and they are working on it
Pinky: It is working now. 1pm EST. 11/11/24.
Clem Surak: Is anyone else using ACPM and the EOBs are not matching up to patient accounts and the EOBs are having to be retyped into ACPM? Started a couple of weeks ago. Payer IDs are correct and match the EOB payer IDs.
tcosta: @ Clem Surak: yes, this has been going on for MONTHS in our office. We've been told it's the payers fault and it has to do with loop segments and payer response. Doesn't make sense to me, considering it's ALL the time now on multiple EOB's a week.
tcosta: It almost never used to happen and now it's constant.
tcosta: ACPM is extremely short staffed and it's taking them days to respond and fix the issue.
Clem Surak: Yes, it has been getting progressively worse. I have a ticket logged, but have not heard back, so I keep retyping the EOBs so that our accounting is up to date. Hope the migration to the new Clearinghouse fixes this issue. Thanks for the response.
Bert: Can anyone tell me where the post is from AIDevelopment

ChrisFNP: can't validate for controlled
DRMO: AC support did a remote assist. problem fixed. TY
ChrisFNP: MIne corrected about 2 cst
Headcase: I cannot Rx Fioricet last few days, put in support ticket....
Headcase: This Fioricet thing probably is of limited general interest, but I was able to send generic...
Bert: This sucks
ChrisFNP: A/C meeting today at NOON EST
ChrisFNP: Meeting is 2/26/2025 should have an email with the invite

ChrisFNP: nope, both are busy for me
lesmar: "Prescription batch error. There was an unknown failure trying to complete the prescription batch for [patient name]."' I was just trying to send a refill on narcotic medication. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
