Anyone know how to generate number of encounters for each active patient over a given time period?

Hi Larry,
I have a couple report ideas that may work. Are you looking for all encounters in a time frame for all active patients, or encounters for a certain patient in a time frame?

That should be an easy report to run. Two things you will need is the patient ID and the date range you want. The queues you add should look something like this:
Demographics - Patient ID - = - *enter the patient ID you want*
Notes & Encounters - Encounter Date - =< - *Enter the start date of the report*
Notes & Encounters - Encounter Date - => - *Enter the End date of the report*
Click "Run", then make sure you check of the box for "Show all query results" at the bottom. This will show you every visit signed for that patient during that time frame.
If you want to see all patients, just remove that first patient ID line.
Let me know if that works. If not, drop me an email at mdabeck@harriscomputer.com and I will be more than happy to set up a time to help you with these report.

Thanks Mark, that will be helpful
To get a count, I would suspect you would export it to Excel and run a sort or report
But if you included all patients, that would be a huge file if you have been using it for a while. Excel with handle a million rows but the time to crunch both the AC report and the Excel would be significant.

If you just need a straight count on the report, AC will show that after the report runs in the lower left corner. It will say something like "1432 Results Returned". That is the amount of results on the report. If you want to filter the report down even further, then exporting to Excel would be your best bet.

Thanks works but reports a separate line for each visit. Have to export to excel and sort duplicates by name or id to count # of visits. Any other way?
