The the new Flu vaccine CPT, 90756, went into effect starting in Jan 2018. And this is the only code Medicare will accept for Influenza virus vaccine, quadrivalent (ccIIV40) (ccIIV4), derived from cell cultures, subunit, antibiotic free, 0.5mL dosage, for intramuscular use. What is a bonus here is even all commercial payers also accept this code.
Yet we can not code it in Amazing Chart Quick code nor can we code it using Amazing Chart Super Bill template.
Anybody knows why this can not be coded in Amazing Chart and/or when this will be addressed by AC?
How are you getting around the issue for now??
Thanks Aramiz Houston, TX

You can add any vaccine by going to Amazing Charts administration (cntrl + A), click on "define order sets" and add the vaccine, CPT code and I think the price. You can also determine what shows up in the Quick Code list. I am a pediatrician and deal with immunizations all the time. ACC is very unfriendly with immunizations and pulls all kind of wrong CPT codes when trying to pull vaccines.
Hope it is helpful.

Thank you for your input.
I am aware of Quick Codes. As I stated I already tried Quick Codes option, this CPT 90756 is not recognizable. A message pops up, it says the CPT you entered does not exist. So I can not save it .
If you think I am doing something wrong, can you pls elaborate that how you are getting around the error message in Quick Codes.
Thanks aramiz Houston

I have not had an error message from Quick Codes when entering vaccine codes. Are you using ACPM, because I am not.Maybe CPT 90756 is not in the database of the practice management portion of the program which is why it is not accepting the code in the code set???
Someone else ready to chime in??

No I am not using ACPM.
But did you try yourself putting in 90756 vaccine CPT? Just to confirm you are getting the same result as I am.
My assessment here is same as yours, the 90756 CPT, currently reimbursable by Medicare and commercial insurance payers is not in the data base Amazing Chart is using for CPTs.

If the code is not in the database yet (either it being a new CPT or you are running an older version of Amazing Charts), you can add the CPT tot he database yourself before trying to add it to the quick codes.
In Admin Options, click on "Tools" at the very top of the page (above all the buttons. On the menu that pops up, click "CPT Database". It should be about halfway down the list. In the CPT screen, there is an option at the bottom to add the code. Once done, you should be able to add it to quick codes.

I tried adding the code 90756 using the "define codes" section, after adding the code I am not getting an error message. It saves the vaccine. When I select the vaccine to be given to a patient however no CPT code shows, only the given name of the immunization. When you add the new CPT code in order sets, you can lookup the CPT code(lookup button next to field to put in CPT code). When you click on lookup button, only blank lines are returned. This would mean that the code is not in the database, In this case you will have to follow Mark's suggestions above to add the code to the database.
By the way I am using version 10.0

OK thank you Raj for giving it a try and arriving at the same data point I experienced.
And a big thanks to Mark D. Bingo.
Once I added the CPT to the database, per Mark's instruction, I could pull it up in Quick Codes or anywhere, even in Super Bill.
And yes, this is a new code introduced in 2018 .
We now know how to add new CPT codes.
Thanks aramiz Houston
