Good Morning All
I just received my first patient with his new Medicare ID Number. Any suggestion as to where it goes in AC demographics? I know I can replace the old Medicare ID but is the new number effective immediately?

The new Medicare ID is in effect from April 1, 2018. The transition period is between 4/1/018 through 12/31/2019. During this transition period CMS will accept claims using both new Medicare ID and old Medicare ID. After 12/31/2019 CMS will no longer accept claims with old IDs.

You will populate the new ID in Amazing Chart Demography in the same field as old.
