AC Cloud has been down all day today, from 8AM until now (7 PM).
No EMR, no e-prescribing...
No ETA for fix.

If Harris is not able to support AC Cloud, does anyone here know of another hosted solution for AC?

Thanks.

Are we going to get compensated for our cloud fees for the month or just every day it is out? Today was very painful.

Very painful day, I am quitting AC cloud, not worth the risk.
We will go back to office based server.
I wasn't even able to get hold of Technical dept, was 75th customer with hold time 176 min. I am sure Amazing charts had a bad day as well but should have a better back up.

Someone mentioned about Amazing charts hosting on Amazon web service, is it something worth looking into?

I was wondering the same thing.
They really should give us a month compensation.
I've been making patients refresh my memory, writing all my notes on paper (which will then have to be entered into AC), phoning pharmacies for prescriptions.

We use a server onsite from Sandeep. So I cannot speak first hand.

However, concensus seems to be that Indy Astelford has a great track record for cloud hosting

Still no access to AC this morning, this is pretty bush league . My office is virtually shut down, cannot make appointments, no access to patient histories, this becomes a bigger liability the longer this goes on. How there is not some sort of redundancy in this service is telling about this company.

I wanted to share something we have found in our UPDOX. We use UPDOX for appointment reminders. IF you do, you have access to you schedule and are able to add and cancel appointments and have access to basic demographic information. It will be our savior for the duration of this. Give it a try on the web version of UPDOX.

My AC cloud now back up again.
Initially I got a message saying AC must be run as an administrator, so I chatted with support, they took care of it, now back in business.

What a nightmare that was.

The big questions, what is being done to prevent this from happening again??? And WHEN it does happen, what is the backup plan? If these cannot be answered, many more people will be switching.

go to your C drive in my computer (presume that is where AC is located. Open Program Files(x86). Open Amazing Charts Folder . Find the Amazing Charts Application line
[Linked Image from amazingcharts.com]

Right click on it it should then bring up option to run as administrator click and go

This is the message I get when trying to log on to AC... "A database connection cannot be established and this is set up as the main computer. Make sure SQL server is running and available on this computer." Is that what you all mean by "Run as Administrator" or is my message different??? Cannot get support either. Back online but 61 minute wait...

Not sure I don't do 'cloud' keep database on my own office server however when there is a cannot connect message often gets corrected if I open up AC as administrator as noted above

I think that's because when you remote desktop into AC Cloud, there is very little you can do, you're a very low priority user. No right-clicking at all.

Gene - thank you for your recommendation.

We have been providing our AC Managed Environment (ACME if you like retro acronyms) for over 6 years without an unplanned outage. We do schedule maintenance on weekends/nights in concurrence with our clients, and we did have a networking change that impacted some clients for a ~ 15 minutes a couple of years ago.

On a dare from the AC founder, Dr Bertman, we proved that AC could be run effectively in managed environment ("Cloud"), and AC eventually chose to compete with us, but their chosen vendor/technology hasn't achieved our level of uptime.

Our focus has always been uptime, and all that goes into keeping practices operational.
