PRIYATANDON,
Here in Montana it is not mandatory yet, but after one of my partners started doing the e-prescribing controlled substances I started a couple of years ago. I was a bit disgruntled of paying $120 dollars a year, but just sucked it up and one nice thing is buying the fancy blue script paper has stopped for me, my current supply may never run out. It is nice to send the script electronically and not worry about script getting lost, changed or whatever. And usually when patient arrives at pharmacy, the med is ready. Also swinging by office to pick up script or mailing script rarely happens either. So, I think it has been a positive thing for my practice and would do it again in a heartbeat, and worth the $120 per year from my perspective.
