Is anyone using a patient online appointment self scheduling app? If so, what is your experience? What program/service are you using? Thanks in advance.

I've used AppointmentQuest since 2006
cost about 17 bucks a month
Saves me probably an hour of time at least every day for making appointments
About 2/3rds of my patients use it
Appointments import in to amazing charts
Patients love it because they can put themselves in for an appointment at 2 AM in the morning for the next day and that helps them be less anxious about getting an appointment for their sick kid the next day
There's a little learning curve but it's not too bad
Lots of discussion multiple occasions on the micro practice list serves about whether it is 'HIPAA compliant' and I can't remember what the end result of that discussion was .

Thanks for the info. I read that digital self-scheduling is supposed to proliferate in the next few years. Could not find any company names so this gives me a good place to start looking. Thanks again

Lynn, do they auto import? Also, can you keep CC info on there to charge no show fees/late cancellation fees?

I asked the company that question and this is what they said:

At the present time, AppointmentQuest Online Appointment Scheduler does not support direct integration with third-party software products such as Amazing Charts. Available integration options are based on export/import functionality, it works for many third-party systems, including Amazing Charts. Quite a few of our customers export data from AppointmentQuest to Amazing Charts.

a. To export appointments:

- Go to Appointments -> Timeline
- Click on "Export to Calendar" button next to timeline
- Save the file

b. To export customer records:

- Go to Customers -> Browse
- Click on "Export Contacts"
- Select Generic CSV file format
- Click "Export"

How do you prevent overbooks. For example a slot is booked online and front office books same time slot manually for different patient (hopefully I am being clear). Do you have to export/import multiple times during the day to get scheduled synced?
