I'm scheduled to have AC support update me tomorrow to v9.4.2, and following their directions I updated Windows10 on all five of my networked computers, including three identical laptops. For reasons unclear to me, one and only one of the laptops updated Windows10 to the next major upgrade titled Creators v1072. Thereafter Amazing Charts v8.2.5 was basically unusable on the laptop that Windows upgraded to the Creators version. It would freeze and become unresponsive every hour or so, requiring Task Manager to close, and would only reload after a full computer restart. Even then, it would freeze during the program loading before the logon screen about 50% of the time. I finally had to roll back the Windows10 OS to the prior build to resume working.

I have been attempting to install AC v8.3.0 on a new Win10 computer (as main computer), but the installation consistently fails with errors. It appears that files (SQL Express, etc.) that the AC installer attempts to download from Microsoft cannot be retrieved.
I tried installing under safe mode, as administrator, as satellite computer (w/o SQL), etc.
Nothing worked.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit, version 1703
I have written to AC Help as we are subscribed to the service, and hopefully they will have a suggestion other than "Use AC v9.x"
Anyone?

AC Guardian Angel Service (very helpful) was able to manually install components and so far it seems OK. Will report back if problems ensue between AC 8.3 and Windows 10, version 1703.

BTW, version 1703 is the so-called "Creators Update" version of Windows 10.

Kurt, I am glad to hear that you were able to get this version installed. For the record the following packages are set to download from the web: - Windows Installer 4.5 (only applies to Windows Vista/Server 2008)
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 - Note that changes to the installer now require that this be already installed on the target machine before setup can run. If it, or a newer version, is not installed, the setup shows a message asking to download and install this. I believe this was made effective in version 9.1 or 9.2.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.2 - This will use a small web installer from Microsoft to download and install the required files. For Win7 and newer the setup uses DISM, a Windows OS application, to enable the feature.
- SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine
- Microsoft XML Parser
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express (x86 or x64). This only downloads and installs on the main computer
All other dependencies are embedded within the install executable. These files are all extracted to a hidden folder C:\Users\<loginUserName>\AppData\Local\Downloaded Installations, where <loginUserName> is the user name used to login into windows. The reason for making these files download from the web is all existing customers should have these files already installed, such as Crystal reports. The 'cost' to download is only the very first install experience and not on subsequent upgrades. This enables us to provide a smaller installer package.
