hello

I am trying to submit my MU2016 second stage data.
I have a question about the core 1- security analysis.
Few weeks ago someone from AC, at my request, referred me to this 3rd party who does that.
At first he wanted 500.00 for it- I told him, there is no way i will pay that much. Then he started his usual BS...you know you have to do it before year ends etc etc- i told him that is not tru- i have to do it before i attest. Anyways we agreed on a price, which i think was .
We agreed on a time and then on that day and time, he got another consultant who wanted me to buy some HIPPA procedures manual for $500 before he could so the analysis. I was like wow- talk about bait and switch and up selling. Perfect!
So anyway i decided to cancel it.
Wish AC could refer some genuine people and not frauds!

Anyone who has had any experience with it.
Please let m know

thank you
pankaj

Look for a "Center for Effective IT adoption" in your state. These are private companies that have a grant from State Medicaid or from CMS to help docs with MU.
I contracted with an organization called MCEITA in Michigan: I paid them $200, the state kicked in another $5000 and they helped me tremendously: everything from the security analysis you mentioned to looking at my MU reports every 2 weeks and telling me "Ok doc, you are lacking in XY & Z and this is how you fix that in AC, until I was meeting all the criteria.
They were a godsend!

Dr Kheterpal,

The company that we refer our clients to is one that we coordinated with to not only better understand the Security Risk Assessment process in general, but also to work closely with in order to have the ability to assist any of our clients with retrieving necessary documentation they might need for Meaningful Use submission or any audits. This is something that we cannot do with any other company at this time and it is also the first time we have had the capability to be involved with this process.
The company has shown us their process when working with a practice and their knowledge on HIPAA and Meaningful Use Compliance. To date we have had many practices successful in using their services and being that I work closely with them myself, I have seen the benefits of this process.

Security Risk Assessment prices will always vary and although this is not a cheap venture they can be much more expensive. By referring you to a company we trust and work closely with you get that extra benefit of knowing we can help you with this more directly if the need ever arises.

Thank you
