If you are considering using a PM that requires an x-link interface... Don't. Save yourself the trouble and use a PM that does not require X-link. They will nickle and dime you to death. Death by a thousand cuts... I hate being told one thing before signing up ("Yes, we can do that for you. No problem!") and then told you must pay for tech support at $75 / hour to do the most basic of requests, such as installing their "interface monitor" in a different computer so the manager can monitor AND correct the numerous interface errors that your program does not "interface"... I would be glad to do it myself, just give me the file. I know how to click on the icon. I can even get the settings from the other interface monitor...
Some annoying things:
* I was told before signing up that changes in demographics in AC will go back to AMD and viceversa.... Not true. In fact, if you do that you will most likely end up with a New chart in either AMD or AC. You literally have to make the change in the demographics in both programs simultaneously or you will end up with another chart.
* Get this: Middle initials in AC do not transfer to the middle initials in AMD and viceversa. I was offered the option of having a "custom" interface for the low cost of $250.00... I declined the option.
* Titles and suffix do not go to the appropriate boxes from AMD to AC. This is not entirely their fault. AC has two boxes: suffix and salutations whereas AMD has only a title box. X-link offered to create a "custom" interface. I declined the option.
* Comments in the schedule in AMD do not transfer to AC. I was offered the option of having a "custom" interface created at the cost of $250. I declined the option.
I was told the customized interface would take only 2 weeks to create as someone else using AC and AMD had already requested that option... If that is the case, doesn't that mean that you already have the interface? When I question why don't they just upgrade their basic X-link interface, they blame AC or AMD. "They only paid for the basic interface..." They are well aware of the deficiencies in their "interface" but have decided they can make more money by charging each user for their "customized" interfaces...
I will eventually look for another PM and will switch once I find one that I like. I do not mind AMD, but hate having to deal with X-link...
