Hi everyone,

I need your feedback as soon as possible as I am leaving this person in the queue. I never know what to do with these registrants as they are clearly vendors trying to get business. On the other hand, someone may be looking for something just like this.

I am hoping to hear whether you just want me to let them in and see if they SPAM or if I should just not approve them.

Thanks.

In my experience, vendors here fall into three groups: products that some find useful with reps who add something to the board (e.g. Dragon, Updox); spammers who just try to push a product-which may actually be legitimate; and finally those who sell something like jewelry or kitchen cabinets.
If they are in the third group, don't let them in the door.
It can be hard to tell the first two groups apart at first glance. So let them in, but toss them the minute they become annoying or pushy.
Just my opinion.

The other relevant issue is whether they are an Amazing Charts partner, which apparently TSI is (listed on the webpage under http://amazingcharts.com/services/partners/ )

Since they asked nicely, they are a partner, suggesting some kind of vetting by AC, I would say let them in.

Are we talking about on the boards here? I don't mind vendors, sometimes someone may have a good product that is useful, whether they are partners with AC or not.

Or are you guys talking about something totally different.

I'm with Ketan. On occasion someone may have a product that I am not familiar with and it's always good to learn what's new. Should there be a separate area on the board for them to post?

There is the "Third Party Vendor Discussion" board. But Bert still screens them to keep out the British cabinet sellers.

I think some would feel differently back during the year there seemed to be bot world. Some spammer would come in and the next thing you know The Declaration of Independence would be posted in 900 places. Thank God, there is a place in the control panel where rather than just ban them, you can delete them and it gives you the option of leaving or removing the posts. That was really helpful.

Also, when I go to the "Forums on Forums" some of the admins there, which are very good at being admins, not just red like I am, have suggested I do what they do, which is to make this 10 day "cage." To them it still looks like they are on the board, but nothing they post is really "on the board" until they show they are good players. They don't know that.

I email most of these vendors, and about one out of ten email me back. That's why it is difficult sometimes. Main reason I ask is I don't want to be the one making the call. But, these are all good answers.
