Hey There,
I don't know for sure but I swear a good while ago there were a few Canadian based users somewhere up your way. I was always wondering what are the real differences in Practice Management and billing, coding and the like up there compared to here. Do you guys use both of the coding systems we use here in the states? Or do, would you have to custom up some codes for the office visits and procedures compared to our system? I gather you are using ICD-10 or perhaps old 9 for the diagnostic coding side of things. I believe that your gov't with better personal privacy protections in place is using Dx coding and such to track trends in our industy, utilization and the like too, right???

As well I gather that nobody cares.... Like who cares what you Dx is since there is NO Private For Profit Carrier based Insurance up there to first make use of your Medical History and the like against you to carve you out of coverage or hit you with prohibitively high premiums to basically do the same to you. It's between you and your doc and perhaps the bureaucrat keeping track of trends in health issues and treatments and that's about it...

Anyway, back to AC... If E&M codes (at least as we refer to them here, Procedures and Office Visit Coding) are the same then I guess you're good to go there and if not AC should still have the ability to create your own codes and such as it used to be able to do back before all the Gov't requirements and mandates took over. I created a few myself for our Non Insurance Based stuff to track it and be able to create bills, keep it in our patients records as we should anyway. And according to such might AC create a Canadian version to make things flow and work smoothly for you guys up there and to be able to reach and sell to a broader market base.

I'd love to talk turkey about such things with a few knowledgeable Canadian docs and or Practice Managers if possible. In all seriousness I've wanted to move up there for some time now and so do my two older teenagers. And this was way before that Idiot President Elect whose name shall not be spoken got elected by Minority voting and other underhanded tactics... (Cough Russia... Cough Cough FBI...)

Well you have yourself a great night and good weekend. I'm off to the rink to do some scouting of the other HS Teams my Son's team will be playing soon with his teammates and a few other parents, so please let me fly... But I Would Love to talk shop and such if and when possible...

I too would be interested in hearing about Canadian practice. I imagine hockeref might be facing a pay cut. Don't read on to avoid any politics.

I really don't understand the FBI reference as to helping President-Elect Mr. Trump. I have some lawyer friends who both told me they had enough evidence, just with documents available on line, to indict "She who shall remain nameless" in Federal Court. The FBI was obviously shielding her, especially when 30,000 more emails were released and they closed the case again in 8 days. (Not nearly enough time to properly investigate.)
