I just finished working with Chris@AC on the custom dictionary file. I'd like to thank him for his expert help.
The "userdic" file has been replaced in Version 9.1 with the "CustomDictionary" file in your Amazing Charts directory. The new folder called "CustomDictionaries" in the AC directory is just for backup dictionaries from the upgrade. the CustomDictionary file is the one to edit. I cut and pasted my 50,000 + words that were in the uderdic file into that one. It seems to work fine using AC. However, we ran into one possible bug. When you EDIT the custom dictionary inside AC, it locks up - apparently choking on my huge dictionary file. (Perhaps much larger than they beta-tested with.) I will just not hit that edit button from within the program until a solution is found.
The ability to edit your dictionary file is a plus. Check it out by hitting: Edit, MyPreferences, User Preferences, (or just hit Ctrl + U,) then: Spelling, Spelling Preferences, Edit.

Is the dictionary file still computer dependent? i.e. Does the CustomDictionary file need to be updated in every room/computer I work from?

I believe it does need to be updated on each station. I wish it was only needed on the server. It's pretty easy to copy over the network.

Bummer. Anyways this is good to know. I didn't realize you could edit it so easily now.
How did you avoid duplicates when you copied over your userdic? Or are duplicates not really an issue?

Bug Fix Alert****Version 9.2 in beta now addresses the need to update all your computers and is centralized on the main server.

Mr. Conrad: great! That is good to hear. I have not heard back from the other fellow about the maximum size of the dictionary. As I mentioned, a dictionary of 650k was causing AC to lock up in the Edit dictionary screen. They were going to do some testing and get back to me. Perhaps you can update us here.
