hello,
I am getting errors in my E prescribing system
Recently my MA denied a prescription for 2 patients and an addendum was automatically added to the chart which reads respectively :
1. Type of Note: Addendum
Subject: Refill Request - Denied and New Prescription Sent
Additional Information: Refill Request Processed:
Drug: omeprazole 20 mg oral delayed release capsule
Sig: 1 PO PRE MEALS
Refills: 1
Prescriber: Ganapathy Bala, MD
Response: DeniedNewPrescriptiontoFollow
Comments: Cannot electronically renew scheduled drug. Prescription will be faxed
2.Subject: Refill Request - Denied and New Prescription Sent

Drug: ranitidine 150 mg oral tablet
Sig: 1 PO BID
Refills: 1
Prescriber: Ganapathy Bala, MD
Response: DeniedNewPrescriptiontoFollow
Comments: Cannot electronically renew scheduled drug. Prescription will be faxed

HOWEVER NEITHER OF THE ABOVE ARE SCHEDULED DRUG BUT AT THE SAME TIME
the prescription history for a controlled drug ( alprazolam in case # 1 , and hydrocodone in case # 2 that the patients were taking )showed a RF with Qty 0 and RF x 1 and a prescription printed out for the controlled drug with a quantity left blank with RF x 1 ;

in the prescription history , it states : a RF with Qty 0 and RF x 1 and comments
\\ in response to electronic refill request\\ but no request was made for any scheduled drug and the only denials made were for Omeprazole and Ranitidine . This suggest an error in the rx system and I am very concerned because it may be subject to abuse as the Qty can be manually filled out and signed by the person which picks it up from the printer

why should a controlled drug be printed out when a GI drug is being denied ?
AC version 6.3.3
any help appreciated
Have contacted AC support , ran AC utilities which was successful , but feel input from this forum would help a lot
