I am preparing to open my new office in about a month. I will be using Labcorp for my labs. AC and Labcorp will be on the same computer. How do the interfaces work? For example will the demographics entered into AC transfer to Labcorp or do you have to re-enter them? Do the labs automatically go into the chart or do you transfer them? Do you get both fax copies and copies in your computer system? I really appreciate the help. Thanks again.

The answer is "yes" to all of the above.
Your LabCorp lab ordering interface will draw demographic info from AC.
The results will then upload to your computer daily. Each day, you just click to import labs, and they turn up in your email box, and you can forward to whomever you wish, or double-click to open and process. You can write letters to patients and save the results to their chart.
You can get faxed (actually printed) copies of results as well.

Thanks much. Since we are building this office from the ground up so to speak there is a great deal to learn coming from a total paper system.

We're using Quest and we have intentionally not activated two way type things. I don't like the idea of letting some outside entity having access to our stuff and to our system. We simply print up a demographics sheet that we include with the plastic bag that contains the patients sample and off it goes. Now it's their problem.
The send out the other way out to them only helps them get their demographics entered in to their system from you. As far as I'm concerned this is now their patient and shouldn't they be doing their own checks and data entry to make sure that things are kosher the way they need it to be? I'm sure insurance issues are different for labs than they are for us providers. Let them collect a card, check the coverage and properly bill their patient.
Call me Paranoid but I don't want to grant some computer program that I have little or no control over or knowledge of its inner working on to our system. But that's just me... the ever protective practice manager who has a healthy dose of civil libertarian in his blood. One of mine and Vinny's: "It not left or right, it's about right and wrong"
