I just got invited by an internist I know to sign up for Doximity--has anyone heard of this? It purports to be a way for Doctors to connect, get CME and you can sign up for free HIPPA compliant fax service that will deliver faxes to your tablet computer or cell phone as well as allow you to fax from same. Almost sounds to good to be true...

doximity has the best medical news gathering service
lots of interesting and provacative business and world medicine news
I use their free fax to send large charts without charge to me to other practices and for life insurance requests ( my service charges per page to fax )
sort of like linked in for doctors.

I don't know anything about the fax. That sounds like a good deal. I get it. I don't know how I got on the list.

Each email comes with about five links to articles. They are interesting.

I will say that the articles tend to be on the negative side like, "More residents jumping from building." "Medical students hate medicine."

At least it is honest. And, there are good articles.

The latest has an article on "Parents giving alcohol to kids at home causing increase alcohol use in future."

There are a lot of good financial articles. I would keep it. You can always unsubscribe.

i just joined doximity,
i have not figured out how to use the free fax to send records
can anyone help with a link on how to use this feature

Sign into Doximity. On the top bar, click on "MAIL & FAX". In the next window, click on "Choose your fax number". In a few seconds you will be assigned a fax number. You can send or receive faxes by this number on the phone or desktop Doximity app.

I have been using it for a long time. Love it. Nice way to check what old resident mates are doing.
