The date of the message does not reflect the date it was saved.
Example: My assistant sends me a message on a patient on March 16. I call the patient on March 19. I click 'Reply' (as that is the only way to add to a message {or forward}). I type in what we spoke about. Click 'Save to chart'.
Problem: The message is saved as March 16. No mention of March 19 in the note.
PS: I have already cc-ed to 'Recommend Improvement'. I always do for such glitches. I post here for others to know and recommendations for work-arounds.
**Also, for the developers: Why is there still a 'Save' (which is mostly greyed out) in addition to 'Save To Chart'? In my 10 years of using AC, I have never used that feature.

Hi Zak,
It is almost pointless to talk about things in the message area. While I find the message area to be 1,000 times more important than the Rolodex, it is very similar in how many complaints there were. The "Save" button, which is always greyed out, is easy. It is to separate the Delete button from the Print button. (obviously I joke).
Every time I use WhatsApp, or Yahoo Messenger or my normal Smartphone messenger, it just reminds me of how poor the messenger is in Amazing Charts. Granted, it may have two or more people in the message, but you can tell who the message was sent to by the name of the person in between. There are just too many names and >> << in the message and it looks horrible by the end.
I also agree with your point that (I am reading into it now) that there should be an edit. If I receive a message from my staff, and I want to write something, I have to hit reply, thereby getting the following:
........ >> >>
Why? And, why not an edit button. Replace the save with edit.
Another huge issue is why the message has Last Name, First Name and DOB, while the message at the top has First Initial, Last Name. We make errors from time to time by calling the wrong patient.
The really fun thing is the:

Zak: The date of the message does not reflect the date it was saved.
Your point is a good one: when hitting "save to chart" there is no record of when that took place. I avoid the problem by hitting "forward" (rather than "reply") and sending the message to myself, then saving. The new verbiage is there and the date is correct. Why is there still a 'Save' (which is mostly greyed out) in addition to 'Save To Chart'? In my 10 years of using AC, I have never used that feature. This is not to save a chart or a note to a chart. I use it to document more administrative-type messages. For example, if a secretary asks for time off, I save the message. Or if we send a message to staff ("please don't forget to put the 'away message' on the phone at lunch") then I will save it to document that it was sent. I agree with Bert's points that the message area could use some "clean-up" by the developers.

Thank you, Bert and Jon. The forwarding works. More mouse clicks, but at least it works.
