I just want to know the general opinion about using Windows 10 with AC. Has as one encountered any problem using Windows 10? Is it safe to us it on main computer and or work station? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Great. Thank you very much The reason I asked, AC support indicated they do not recommend Windows 10. I just want to hear from other users. Thank you again

I appreciate any feedback. Thanks Some of our crew use W10, some have problems with each update, some less so. We have had clients who had software or drivers uninstalled during an W10 upgrade roll. YMMV, but I stick to W7 when I'm using a Windows machine. If you are running RDP, another option is to upgrade from W10 to Ubuntu 15 and use one of the excellent RDP clients. If you're aren't sure, the installer CD can also be used to run it live on your machine without installing anything. As Wendell says so well, "Did I mention it's free?"

I put Win 10 on my laptop, just to try it. It was reminding me about every day of a free upgrade. Well, something happened with my video driver. The screen now glitches out several times a day and I have to go to sleep, and bring it back. I tried the Intel website to see if my drivers are up to date for the built in Intel HD graphics. It says they are. I'm very unhappy with this. Windows 7 is not only prettier, but easier to use. They tried hard to look get the simplicity of OS X, but it just looks cheap, not Zen

Does it make any differance if I install AC on a brand new Computer already has Windows 10 as an operating Windows? All new PCs sold with Windows 10 unless it is an old system discontinued by the manufacture. I appreciate any clarification on whether it make a difference to install AC on new pic with Windows 10 rather updraiding an old PC. Thank you.

This is the was in today's news about the W10 Nag-ware. If you choose to install this Microsoft "recommended update", it not only brings the W10 Nag-beast back from the dead, it edits your registry multiple times today so that you can't kill it anymore. Windows 10 Walking Dead. The Nag-Beast As you may recall, Microsoft has delivered KB3035583 as a 'recommended update' to users of Windows 7 and 8.1. What this update does is install GWX ("Get Windows 10"), a program which diagnoses the system to see if it is eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10, and if so, asks the user if they would like to upgrade (though recently, the option to decline has been removed). Some users have gotten around this by editing Windows Registry values for "AllowOSUpgrade", "DisableOSUpgrade", "DisableGWX", and "ReservationsAllowed" in order to disable the prompt altogether. This advice was endorsed by Microsoft on their support forums.
According to a report by Woody Leonhard at InfoWorld, the newest version of the KB3035583 update includes a background process which scans the system's Windows Registry twice a day to see if the values for the four aforementioned registry inputs were manually edited to disable the upgrade prompt. If they were, the process will alter the values, silently re-download the Windows 10 installation files (about 6 GB in total), and prompt the user to upgrade.

Indy, Your post does not answer my question. All new computers come with Windows 10 already installed. If I install AC on a new PC, will I have the same problem like any one how upgraded to windows7 to windows10? I appreciate your feed back Thank you.

I have not had any interoperability issues between W10 and AC. And there is an option to run programs in "compatibility mode" for a number of previous versions of Windows.

msalem: you won't have any problems running AC on a new client computer that comes with Win 10 installed. I've done it 3 times on new HPs & Dells. I recall that AC support did have to configure several permission windows when they installed 8.2.4 on my main computer. I think Boondoc is referring to hassles upgrading his older laptop. Indy: Resistance is futile

The best thing to do with a new W10 machine is make sure it is Pro so that you can control the patches applied. That would be preferable to upgrading to W10 if the cost is comparable.

My only issue with Windows 10 Pro is AC intermittently crashes on my Surface Pro 2 and being wired or wireless to the database doesn't seem to matter.

Updated a few windows 8.1 all-in-one computers to windows 10 and have regretted it ever since. Windows 7 was far more stable. Windows 8.1 is more stable. Windows 10 computers crash once or twice a day. And I like the Windows 10 features though they are useless in clinical practice.

I kept getting errors while writing scripts and letters, logging on and off of AC since Windows 10 Pro upgrade. Today I reinstalled Windows-7 Pro on all client PCs as advised by my IT support. My Midmark ECG is also not Windows 10 compatible.

I reinstalled Windows 7 Pro on all clients PCs and the errors went away. Midmark ECG works like it should.

Good to know. Good advice. I too am tempted but will wait. I'm running 8.3.0 and generally like the continuous AC improvement and am willing to put up with a few "beta" bugs. For Windows I'm conservative. Stick with 7 pro or 8.1 pro. They work fine no need to buy into Microsoft's push for 10. Especially since drivers on anything more than a 2 year old computer will be untested on windows 10. I just installed GWX control panel to try to block the forthcoming more aggressive Microsoft push for 10. Auto download of 4+ GB Windows 10 update files is coming. Will be pushed to domain and peer-to-peer alike.

Our office is on the AC Cloud hosted product. The office has standardized on Windows 10 and the OS has been fine. But the remote servers and remote session is constantly freezing up. What a PITA.

Thankfully I upgraded just one computer (other than my own which had W8.1 pro and works flawlessly) from W7 pro to W10 Pro but I am having issues with the Mapped Network Drive for Amazing Charts (P2P network). It no longer reconnects at startup.
Anybody else having this issue and have solutions?

I am not tech savvy but the issue may be with windows network file sharing. Turn on network discovery, file sharing, add AC to windows defender exceptions and save the network log on settings (ID and password) on the computer. I think I had similar issues in the beginnign with Windows 10.

Thanks Naeem, I made sure that all those things were in place and they were already. Then I thought it was the Homegroup settings that were inexplicably removed during the upgrade. Replacing those settings worked for a day but the following day the same Network Drive not connecting at startup. I seem to have solved it by instead choosing to Add a Network Location for the server's AC folder. This is a new option with W10 alongside the old option to Map a Network Drive. It has held up for a couple days. This option is only available under This PC. ![[Linked Image from amazingcharts.com]](http://amazingcharts.com/ub/attachments/usergals/2016/01/full-3802-834-capture.png)
