I have been playing with AC and Windows 10 for about 6 weeks. The installer was not compatible before that.
I have had no problems with either running it as a client or solo on a machine. I have not tried to log in as my Win10 machine being a "server."
It installs smoothly, and seems to work very much like Windows 8.
That said, I am not ready to update my machines to Win10.
Currently, there is no way to do a controlled install. It will install and you cannot stop it. I had a driver for my touchpad that crashed when installed, and it would reinstall every couple days. That was on Win10 enterprise, but no such issue with the driver in Win10 pro, but I still cannot stop an install.
Supposedly, Win10 home will have automatic upgrades. Win10 pro will be on a slower cycle but still require autoupdates. If you do not update, you are no longer supported. See here
http://www.computerworld.com/articl...osoft-will-update-windows-10.html?page=2While most Microsoft updates are needed and work well, this also means they can make changes to the User Interface (think about when they deleted the start menu in Win 8) and force this down your throat. They really want you to drink the Kool Aid.
Having said that: Windows 7 mainstream support has already ended. That means no new advances, only support for general problems. Extended support (meaning no more updates, like Win XP) is good for another 5 years.
You have a year to update for free to Win10. I will probably wait about 2-3 months and gradually start to integrate it into the office (and I have a fair tolerance for betas.)
Overall, I like Windows 10. I may introduce a lesser used machine as 10 sooner, and see how the staff fairs with it. I'm still somewhat scared about the update issue but overall it's Windows 8.1 made right.
