Hello - Just upgraded to 8.2.2 Build 114

When I am in Most Recent Encounter tab during a patient visit and I prescribe a medication during that office visit and then forward the chart to myself to finish my documentation later, that medication I prescribed shows up in the "Current Medications" section. It also shows up in the "Medications" section of my note under Allergies once that encounter is finally signed off.

This is different from version 7 where "Current Medications" would not update when I would prescribe a medication and forward the chart encounter to myself to finish documentation later.

Has anyone else noticed this? Seems to me that "Current Medications" in the Most Recent Encounter tab should not update in this scenario and make it look like a patient is taking Amoxicillin (for example) or a higher dose of their SSRI (another example) prior to me seeing them at the office visit when I am actually prescribing that medication or changing that medication dose during that visit.

I think this is confusing to someone reading my note later (seeing Amoxicillin in the "Medications" section of my note under Allergies as well as prescribed in the Plan section of my note for example ). Why the change A.C.?

You are correct that this is a bug. It has been recognized by AC and is supposed to be fixed in version 8.2.3 which is in beta and reportedly should be out very soon.

I've run into the same problem of the current medication list being changed by deleting or adding medications at the end of the note. This is very dangerous, especially when dealing with other doctors. This just happened with a patient who is seeing a psychiatrist and another one who is seeing a cardiologist. Phone calls back and forth to determine what medications the patient has actually been taking, and what effect they had.

I reconcile medications at every visit, not just when the patient is new to the practice. Just as medication reconciliation is being emphasized, a stumbling block occurs which makes things worse and more confusing.

I'm on 6.5.5 or something like that an my current medication section is VERY hit or miss. Now when I open to write a Rx it's always right, but there is always all sorts of old stuff in the current med section. weird.

I believe this is a bug that was fixed in version 7.1.3, then broken again in version 8.2.2.

We were told at recent Washington State Users Group meeting in Seattle that it was on the list to be fixed in version 8.2.3. They were projecting a release date for that version "hopefully in 2 or 3 weeks." That would be about now.

I am waiting impatiently for version 8.2.3 to go ahead with the ICD10-compliant upgrade. My staff wants to get their feet wet with ICD 10 and not wait until the last minute (something I'm notorious about doing). Anyone using the beta of 8.2.3, how does it look?
