This is happening to only one staff member. When she logs out (either using the File,Logout menu or Ctrl+L) the following error occurs. It's strange because it doesn't happen to the doctor who comes in right afterwards to login and logout when he's done in the room. It is happening multiple times a day on at least 4 different computers. We've had 8.2.2 for about 2 weeks and it seems to be happening very often since then so I wonder if it is a bug. Does anybody have tips about where to start troubleshooting? (I've done the usual restarting of the main computer and the affected computers as well as trying to start from a clean install of Windows on one computer but it still keeps happening).

Josue,
Have you contacted tech support with this issue?

Marty, No I haven't. I am too skeptical right now with their support. I had to kindly urge the last guardian angel who remoted in to my main computer to stop changing folder permissions as it wasn't even addressing the issue I was having. He indeed told me afterwards that he was fairly new. Perhaps a more senior level tech could help but the ones I used to contact have told me they've been reassigned to the development team and are no longer available in a customer support role.

Josue,
I would contact Tech support regarding this issue. Not sure you will get a lot of help (if any) on the board when it comes to this error.

Google the following:
Run-time error '91: Object variable or With block variable not set
I don't know if this will help, but I trust Google more than, well...
There are quite a few "ideas" there from giving permissions to certain files to using Registry Cleaners. I guess it can't hurt much to try a reg cleaner even if you aren't one who likes them. I would be a bit skeptical about the programs which are touted to fix the error. The problem is, like many error messages and especially the ones pertaining to "variables" rather vague. They can mean more to programmers.
One of the things people clamor for with Microsoft is better error messages with less Greek.

Marty, I might have to bite that bullet soon. Bert, I tried googling it too. I'm afraid it's got something to do with the server computer which I'm not willing to start poking it's registry. For now I reset that user's password, and I've since not been able to generate the error myself. The user is on vacation now so they haven't been able to either.

Jon Bertman used to have a list of about 10 errors and their fixes. The website states they were moved to the portal, but they are not there. Not sure if this was one of them.

The AC website? Or here on the board? I don't remember it.

It was on the site. There were about nine fixes. Not that they all worked. Now, you can find the link under the think about Fix It Yourself. But, it tells you it goes to the portal. You can look there. I didn't find anything.
I don't think it would hurt to run a registry cleaner on the computer in question. Not on the server. Wouldn't touch that. Maybe CCleaner. You can free up 3GBs of space on an SSD as well.
There are a ton of good ideas after a Google search. I did find the DCOMNFG or whatever file Microsoft referred to.
You could also open a free account on Experts-Exchange and explain the situation. They will know what a Runtime Error 91 is. I believe Runtime errors are rather non-specific. I have only asked over 550 questions on EE, and have received over 400 answers which helped. I am well off a trial membership though. But, you throw a question out there, and it will usually get answered within 8 to 24 hours.

I've seen this error a couple times. Each time logging in as a different user(in AC, not Windows), then logging out and returning to my normal user seemed to fix it. Worth a try...
