SM,
I am curious on this bug as I have tried recreating it several times on my database here and have been unsuccessful. I'd be interested in talking with you an possibly remoting into your computer to see it first hand. You can contact me offline at mdabeck@amazingcharts.com.
for the OP on patient tracking, one method that another user had brought up was using the appointment types in the schedule for patient tracking. Along with their normal appointment types, they had appointment types created for "Checked in", "Room 1", "Room 2", "Checked Out". They would book the appointment as always and then once the patient has checked into the office, the front desk person would click the appointment, then click the "Edit Appointment" button at the bottom of the screen and change the appointment type to "Checked in". This would then display on the schedule like this:

Once the nurse roomed the patient, they would do the same. Changing the appointment type to whatever room the patient was in. This way, any user could look at the schedule and see where a patient was in the cycle of a visit. After the visit, the front desk would then change the appointment type again to "Checked Out".
I hope this helps.
