I was hoping to be able to use AC's PM in the near future but recent posts made me think twice. Now I am hoping to find a way to fully integrate my current PM (MOMSAT) and AC. The folks at MOMSAT have a rudimentary HL7 interface which partly works. Some things work well, most don't I have to press control F11 to synch calendar and demographics every so often Demographics only works one way (MOMSAT to AC) Schedule changes in MOMSAT only get updated one way (momsat -> AC) If an appointment is moved in AC, it does not change in MOMS I considered using AC's scheduler, but it is too rudimentary. I would love to have someone help me fix the interface.

Hello Gerardo,
Sorry to hear about your integration problems. I hope that you and others find the following helpful.
We were gnashing our teeth about finding new billing software a while back, and after a lot of investigation and demonstrations, selected EZ Claim Premier, with ZirMed for claims clearinghouse. We have been happy with this combination. It sounds like it has a lot more integration than what you have been unfortunate to experience.
We do not need to do "double entry" of the insurance information. Name, demographics, insurance information, ICD-9 and CPT codes simply flow from Amazing Charts into EZ Claim via the transfer process at the end of the day. No need to enter that information twice, which is a big time savings. The only thing which I recall that does not flow is the method by which someone paid a deductible or co-pay for example (cash, checks, visa, MasterCard), but I am told by the folks at Amazing Charts that they do not even export that into their own billing software.
Posting of payment flows back from ZirMed to EZ Claim for simple posting. (We do not manually enter payment information such as an payments from EZ Claim back into Amazing Charts. The balance of coarse then grows in Amazing Charts, but we ignore it, using EZ Claim for billing functions.) EZ claim has a button that you can click, which checks on insurance eligibility once the patient is registered in Amazing Charts and at least one of day information transfer has occurred.
One caveat is that I don't know whether or not EZ Claim Premier is considered a full "practice management software", or simply a really good "billing software". I think the difference is basically the various reports that a practice management software can generate. While looking into these various programs, we decided that the day to day functionality and integration was much more important than the ability to generate reports which I probably would not have time to look at any way!
I recall being told that about 1000 users of Amazing Charts use EZ Claim for billing software. I have no financial interest in either company, only an interest in seeing colleagues succeed, in the Three Musketeers philosophy of "All for one and one for all", that so many demonstrate here on this users community.

Norm, I appreciate your input. Looks like I will be looking at replacing my PM as I have not been given much help from either AC or MOMS Indy did message me a couple of days ago and I am hopeful he will contact me in time. does EZ claim have a good scheduler, or do you use the scheduler with AC? If so, how do you deal with No shows?
Thanks.

Hello Gerardo,
I still use the AC scheduler. EZ claim does have a scheduler, but I have not looked into using it, so I can't fairly comment on it.
For no shows, the staff sends me a message that the patient did not show. It involves simply right clicking on the patient's name on the AC schedule and selecting the last option at the bottom.
If you do go with EZ Claim, make sure that is the Premier version. When we were looking into it, one of the cofounders of the company was the one who demoed it for us, and took all of the suggestions that my biller made and incorporated them into the next version about 8 days later. One nice thing about EZ Claim is that improvements and tweaks in the program are done very quickly. We don't have to wait for a whole new version to come out like we do with Amazing Charts. They do have an integration with ZirMed for claims clearinghouse. Let me know what you want up with and how it works out for it. Always eager to learn something new!

Thanks Norm. I will look at EZ claim.
I spoke with Indy a couple of days ago. Building the type of interface I wish for is prohibitively expensive as only 4 other practices use AC/MOMS combination. MOMS tells me AC put restrictions in the interface that MOMS can build between AC and MOMS. I don't know why it is so, but to me it seems likely that it is to encourage users to use AC's PM. I guess it worked because I will look into AC's PM. (Do you have to put your database in their cloud to use ACPM?).
I am open to suggestions as to other PM programs that work well, integrate well with AC, have a strong scheduler, and gives good reports.
