Hi Dr Carcamo, If you have an existing Updox account, then its a simple process to link the 2 accounts. First step is to open your Updox application and sign on with a user with Admin privileges. On the top of the Updox screen, you will see a option for "Admin", click on that and select "Map AC Users". Walk through the mapping process for the users (its fairly straight forward). Once that is done, go back o the patient portal activation screen (in AC, click on View/Admin Options/Patient Portal). Check the box acknowledging that you have mapped updox users, and then click the Link Accounts button. AC will do the rest automatically. We have a user guide and a video tutorial here: http://amazingcharts.com/products/ehr-product-tour/patientportal/Please let me know if you have questions.

I do not have an "ac user mapping" option under admin in updox. I am an admin. I am the account holder. Your video does not help me.

Gerado, as Mark said, open Updox, go to Admin and near the bottom of the drop down menu you should see "AC User Mapping". But before you do this, make sure that AC Auth Service is running or you will have problems on the next step (or possibly this one).
The training video on the website is very poor and does not provide sufficient information to do this. Updox sent me an email telling me how to do it (I had already mapped my users).

Wayne and Mark Thanks for trying to help. *I do not have a "AC user mapping" option under admin in the updox utility. I have tried from several computers. It just isn't there. *There is no AC auth service under services. I guess I have not even gotten to the part where AC tries to start it.

Uh oh. It should be right there above Connect to your AC Database. Try this. Go here: https://myupdox.com/ui/html/This is the Updox Web 2.0 version. Now just sign in as normal. On the left hand side, select Menu, then select Admin. At the bottom you should see AC User Mapping. If this doesn't work, you need to contact Updox support and let them know that you do not have the AC User Mapping option on your menu tree.

Hi Dr Carcamo,
I have checked with a few of out Tier II techs on why you are missing the "Map AC Users" option under admin. Updox might not have you selected as the account holder, despite you actually being the account owner. I am currently reaching out to Updox to see if someone can get in contact with you to resolve the issue for you (this might just be a change on their end they have to make, but I want to verify with them first). If you want to email me directly, my email address is mdabeck@amazingcharts.com and I can follow up with you directly, or we can continue here. Whatever is easier for you.
Wayne: You are correct about the auth service needing to be running for AC and Updox to talk to each other. In a normal circumstance, the auth service should be set to start automatically. It should not normally need to be started by the user, which is why it was not included in the video.

Fixed. Updox support did call me today and were helpful. I took 3 days but eventually they came through.
It turns out I was NOT the account holder. I had switched that to my office manager in the past. Once I made myself the account holder, I could see the "AC user mapping" option under admin in the updox utility.
AC Auth service is located in the server / computer that hosts AC. I started the service easily once I figured out where to look. So now when I press the secure button it sends me to updox web 2.0 version.
Can you edit documents in updox web 2.0 like you could in the java version? I could not find a way to do that.
Thanks for all your help.

Glad you got that fixed. I didn't realize that you were looking for AC Auth on a "non-host" computer. I took for granted that you were working on that computer.
On the document editing, maybe not. I havent flushed things out fully. But it is odd when you basically have two different versions of Updox...the web and the desktop. They are very different. And there are other issues. Like, when I print to Updox it only goes to the desktop version.

Yes, I should have known better about looking in the server. I guess I just had a momentary lapse of reason.
