Since we "upgraded" to AC 8.1.1, a bug has surfaced involving chart signing.
If an order, such as a rapid strep test, or other in house procedure, has been issued, when the chart is signed from the visit screen, this procedure is listed in the coding screen. In Ver 6.6.4, which we used last, this procedure had an ICD from the list selected in the previous screen associated with it. This does not work in 8.1.1. This problem occurs whether the order is "saved but not sent", or when order is sent. A workaround exists in that one can click on missing ICD field and type in any code, but this creates a need to notice and correct the problem. My boss is a technophobe, and will have difficulty getting this right.
If the field is left blank, AC prompts for the missing ICD, as though the user is remiss!!
We reported this as a bug but have yet to hear from AC in response. Am I missing something in the way I'm using the program? has anyone else noticed the problem, and found a different work around?
BTW We're not happy about the program's sluggishness since the upgrade.
