We just started with Amazing Charts, we have 3 providers and see about 100 patients a day. Our patient data base is 60,000+ does anyone else have a problem with the system being very slow? We have about 20 users in our practice and the system is very slow. Anyone out there with a practice of this volume have a similar problem?

What version are you on, donnarr? Can you give us more information on your set-up? (Server, number of clients, some specs on the system).

It would be good to know the server specs and operating system. Sounds like you may need a solid state drive for that many patients.

If you've been using the system for only three days, then is this an upgrade from a previous version or did you have someone import those patients for you.

Sorry to press the issue, but some specifics are needed: Server (such as Windows Server 2012) How much Memory: 16G How many active terminals and what type of Windows systems (Win 7,8,8.1) wireless or wired: If wired 100 or 1000 (gigabit) network You may have to ask your tech person, but all these will be very helpful James questions above are also important. If you have updated it means one thing. If you have imported it means something else. If you are adding patients as you go along, it's a third possibility. You should go to the help page ( http://amazingcharts.com/support/help-me-now/ )and click on chat with us. You should get a fairly prompt response. If not, let us know. You shouldn't be left out in the cold.

We have several client practices that have between 15-25 users, some of which oare on the 7.x series. There are several factors that play into AC performance, which is why several have asked for more specifics. If this is a recent install, it would lead me to believe that you are on the default SQL Express. Also curious if AC did the patient import for you.

I just upgraded to V7.x. I purchased a new server with the default SQL Express. AC runs a bit slower, but the bigger issue with it is the locking/freezing up. The server has 16 GB of RAM, Xeon 3 processor, so I don't think that is the issue.
Would upgrading SQL server be reasonable solution?

Would upgrading SQL server be reasonable solution? John, How many users do you have connecting to AC? When it locks up, do you get a crash window, or are you talking about the AC application becoming non-responsive for an extended period of time? As has been pointed out, performance of I/O intensive tasks like displaying Imported Items is greatly helped by using SSDs and placing the AC install on the SSD (or SSD RAID). How much RAM is SQLServer using right now? Do you see large processor spikes? Answering this question actually requires a significant amount of data to effectively answer.
