Whenever I try to open the Audit Log Report from the Administrative Options window, after about 30 seconds of unresponsiveness, I get a runtime error message (query timeout expired) and after I click 'okay' on the error message window AC closes itself.
Audit Log Report used to work just fine for me. But it hasn't worked for at least a month. Has anyone this problem? How did you fix it?

Are you running it on the main computer? I would try that.
Also optimize the database using Amazing Utilities then try running the report.

Is there a way to not click on OK. Such as continue.

Ah, I was not running it on the main computer, but on one wired to the network. Your suggestion worked! Audit Log Report runs without a problem on the main computer. Thanks!
Is optimizing the database something that can be done during the workday while people are opening charts and saving changes (i.e. making changes to the database)? I've always been hesitant to run the optimizer during office hours.
And Bert, there doesn't appear to be a way to click 'okay' on the error message and continue, the error message takes precedence over all of the other AC windows.

Thanks. Also, can you tell me exactly how you get to the audit log report? I mean I don't do it so I want to run it. Thanks.
It likely wouldn't hurt, but I would just run it while no one is using it. It doesn't take long.

Sure! To get to the audit log report, go to the AC home window and click on "View" in the toolbar. From the drop-down list, click on "Administrative Options." You'll then be prompted to enter in the administrator password.
Once the Administrative Options window is open, you can see a button for "Audit Log Report" in the third section of buttons (this section is called Practice & Users). The "Audit Log Report" button is the last one on the right.
Audit Log Report is by patient/by user/by date list of all of the activity on a chart. It is very useful for finding out who/what made a mistake. For example, occasionally our doc says that he hasn't received a chart even though our staff says that they sent it to him. With Audit Log Report, I can see if the staff did in fact send it to him. It's nice to know these things.
The log has it's own jargon, so I recommend playing around with it first. Open a chart. Refresh the log to see how that activity is recorded. Forward a chart to yourself and see how that is recorded. Etc..

Sandeep's suggestion to run the optimizing tool also worked out. I can now run audit log report on other computers. Thanks, once again!

Sandeep where have you been? I've been lurking. But I've been monitoring for technical problems.
