Been using AC for 10 years now. When I saw the carrot CMS was waving at the beginning of MU I thought this would be like taking candy from a baby (for once I had a leg up on the system). Then they sent me the check for the 18000 dollars (ultimately collected 20,000). Lord someone pinch me- they are finely paying me for what I do and believed in. THEN CAME MU 2. AHH! I could not attest because I did not have the upgraded version to do so. Then comes the hardship application which I filled out. Have the upgrade now but missed the October deadline.

My question (sorry for the rant) do I wait for the hardship to go through and then attest, or is there a way I can enter the new AC version and get the attestation period to go into 2015 (given I missed the oct. deadline). I have looked at information website and am not sure what to do. If someone has a number I can call CMS to direct the question?

I think you can still attest using MU Stage 1 if you have not upgraded to V7.
The deadline was moved back and you should be able to go to the CMS website and attest for a 3 month period.

I did complete/attest MU 1 in 2011/2012. Waited to attest to MU 2 until I got the AC7 upgrade, which was after Oct. 1. Now I wonder if I wait to get the extension or is there a way I can start the 3 month (min. MU2 length to show use) with AC7, which will put me into 2014?

I would give a call to tech support and ask for one of the MU gurus. They are very good with these issues.

You can attest to MU Stage 1 using any quarter of the year. We decided to use quarter 2 when we were on 6.5. I restored a backup and ran my our numbers. Attested with out issue. Made good documentation of why I needed to use 2011 version.
