Hi, all.
As a new user of AC, I just want to let NEWER user know how I am using AC.
You may check my web site,
http://soondoctor.comI read Dr. Moore's article at AAFP site, and adopted his system including AC, IMH, online appointment, webdox.
IMH is not satisfactory, online appointment is useful, AC is super good. I abandoned webdox(web office) recently.
I spent a lot of time initially struggling with my do it myself setting up network, troubleshooting AC etc.
Tomorrow, I am going to adopt PDF annotate to let patients sign consent or HIPAA on my table pc (scanned as PDF and patient sign on it, import to AC).
I use Midmark ECG, Spirometry interfaced to AC, which is perfectly working. I am awaiting for Labcorp guys to come set up AC inteface.
I have my digital x-ray & ultrasound images burned on CD Rom, put them in my main computer, then go home.
At home, I log in to my main office computer(cheap dell computer, about $400?) via
www.gotomypc.com. I can have access to my computer at home just like I am in the office.
Then, I open AC and open the CD rom (x-ray and U/S images), import each images directly to AC as imported file. It is super fast. Then I finish my unifinished note if any at home.
I also have outsourced billing. A buddy who is billing specialist is taking care of my billing part at her home by having access to AC remotely by gotomypc. She prints CMS1500 to her printer with gotomypc printer function. Then rest of billing, she takes care of it with 6% fee. I do not have any headache of billing by this. She functions just as like 'in house' billing as she only takes care of my billing.
Oh, for my AC data, I am going to purchase AC soon(3 month free trial period yet), and start online back up.
But I am doing my own back up with Netgear Storage Central.
I initially used my Dell computer as main AC data site. But I always had concern of failed computer. I have $70 wireless router as main router, and DSL. All my computers are wirelessly networked. I purchased Netgear storage central which holds 2 IDE hard driver. I set the second driver back up the first one. And I designated this storage central as main database storage site instead of computer hard disk.
This is how I use AC yet.
I did have a web based EMR person come to my office and present to everyone. But I found out they were EXPENSIVE($450/month, $2,500 at least for set up fee including training). I could not understand why they need to set up templates to me with expensive cost, why all EMR companies say they need to 'train' user with extra cost. I told him I don't think training. I understood and could use their EMR right on site already. They were expensive and redundant. I like AC essentially have all I need, but not more than that !
Thank you for reading my review.
