I updated AC from version 5.0.2.9 to 7.1.2 a couple of months ago. Since AC was updated,I have not been able to get the automated back-up to start.

I have kept the main computer running AC while using the Amazing Chart back-up (both as administrator and user, at different time). Had to back up manually every week.

I have waited for Angel's response but I guess their helpline is backed up. Can't get them on Chat or on the phone.

Any recommendation? Currently running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard on the main computer.

Thanks for all the help.

I'm having the same problem. Have to run manual backup. Not a huge problem because the server backs up twice a day but .... Windows 2008 Std and AC 7.1.3.

Checked and the AC scheduling service was not started. My guess is that it is not starting when the server is restarted. Restarted the service and I'll check tomorrow if the backups are taking place. If so, then I'll restart the server and see if the scheduling is still not starting automatically.

Hello Tri and Kevin,

Kevin is correct, restarting the Amazing Charts Service on the main computer should restart the Automatic Backup. After restarting the service it will kick off and complete an automatic backup. Once the backup completes check the backup schedule and you should see the dates adjust correctly, you may need to readjust the time.
If this does not work please contact Guardian Angel support for we may need to take it a step further to correct the issue.

Tri, in version 5.0.29 the backup automator ran as a Windows Process, after upgrading to version 5.1 or above the backup automator runs as a Windows Service. So if you open you Windows Services and find the service that is called Amazing Charts Service. Stop and then restart the service and this should reset the backup automator. If it still does not run please contact the Guardian Angel Support and we will be more than happy to help you out.

Thanks,
Anthony@AC
