I upgraded to 7.1.2 yesterday, and am getting an error on some machines when installing the client. Windows 7 64bit machines.

"Package Microsoft XML Parser 4sp3 Error: The specified account already exists"

The only option is to hit 'ok', and the install cancels. The old version of AC is already gone. Anyone get this? I installed msxml 4sp3 as a standalone, restarted, and tried the AC installer again. no dice.

Hi Brock,

I would try the following things in this order:

1. Download free versions of either Revo Uninstaller or My Uninstaller and uninstall program. Some times the uninstall from AC or Programs and Features will leave the original folder and files. Probably won't work, but worth a try as it is simple and safe.

2. Make sure your server is running Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, 4 Client Profile and 4 Extended. Probably only need 3.5 or 4.5, but you can try one at a time. My guess is you have the corrent .NET Frameworks if some are installing.

3. Make sure you have MIcrosoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 or at least 4.5 on the CLIENT computers.

4. Installing the 4sp3 was a good idea, but it may not be registered. Please follow the following steps on this Microsoft thread.

5. Threee simple unregister and register of .dll files

Hello All,

The following is what I did to solve this issue, Hope it helps someone....

.....download this,

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15697

double click the file to install from its location on your computer,
a window will pop up asking whether you want to repair, uninstall, etc
I chose to uninstall, after that was done,

I tried to install the AC 7.1.2 again on my client computer...and viola!! the install went on without a single hiccup(no pun)

I was able to connect to my database on my main computer without any problems

.....I have not re-installed msxml file that I downloaded to do this, don't know if that will matter time will tell, so far no issues at all, GOOD LUCK

Thank you demhaizar and Bert,
Dr. Razi's link above fixed a similar problem that I was having.

I thought it might help some other poor unfortunate in the middle of the night or weekend, so I will attempt to elucidate.

After other install errors to be described below, I, too, got the following error message on some, but not all, of my computers:

"Package Microsoft XML Parser 4sp3 Error: The specified account already exists"

The affected computers also had installed a billing program using SQL Server Express 2008R2 and included a Crystal Reports runtime which also snafued the AC7.1 upgrade (from 6.5).

Download msxml.msi and the associated .cab, right click on msxml.msi and select uninstall. After that, proceed with the Amazing Charts 7.1 upgrade. I was then able to reinstall msxml. Right click msxml.msi and choose either install or repair (I chose install, but it redirected me to repair). AC7.1 worked fine after the reinstall (repair) of msxml.

The other upgrade problem involved SAP Crystal Reports. Amazing Charts 7.1 upgrade refused to install over a newer version of SAP Crystal Reports runtime. After uninstalling Crystal Reports runtime engine, the upgrade still failed. I had to also uninstall the application that was using Crystal Reports (PB Clinic). After doing that and the above msxml tricks, the version 7.1 upgrade proceeded without problems. I was then able to reinstall the billing application and Crystal Reports (as well as msxml). All seems to be working well at the moment, I will update this if problems crop up.

I am looking to update to 7.1 from 6.6.7

Is it better to hold off?
