Hey everyone,
I'm trying to upgrade our server to Server 2012. Our server previously had Windows 7 on it, and was running AC version 6.6.7. I have a fresh install of Server 2012 (Active Directory Domain Services). When I try running AC v7 install on it, I'm getting an error message stating that it could not complete the setup. It seems to fail on the SQL Server install, never making it to the AC install. If I run AC install as though it were a client machine, AC installs fine. I can then install SQL Server manually, but I'm not having any luck.
I've also tried installing the older version (6.6.7) that was running previously on the server before it was upgraded from Windows 7. It fails with the same error.
I'm running as Administrator, from the Administrator account, with SmartScreen Filter and UAC off. Also, I've tried testing the compatibility mode but haven't seen any change.
Has anyone else setup AC for Server 2012 or have any ideas I can try to get this server up and running?
Thanks in advance!

Just to make clear about this detail, are you right-clicking and choosing "Run As Administrator" when you start the install?

Correct, right clicking to run as Administrator, while logged in as Administrator.

What's the exact error that you receive?
SQL is no longer included in the setup file along with a few other components. Makes me wonder what else they added since the file is the same size. Anyways, make sure you are connected to the Internet when doing the install. Also, make sure you are fully updated with .NET enabled before you start the install.
Since this version requires an Internet connection, it may be due to the fact that Servers come with IE Enhanced Security Configuration. Smart Screen Filter is different.
Load Server manager>Local Server>IE Enhanced Security Configuration (Right column). Change it to off and try again.
Server 2012R2 Essentials or Standard?
