I would love to be able to view multiple inboxes. Being able to see both mine and the Providers and my staff to see theirs + nursing would be great instead of having to go back an forth between the two.

Scott, Could you explain how this would be helpful? I am trying to understand how this would help your workflow. Why do you go "back and forth" between message boxes?

I would like to be able to see Nursing also. There have been occasions when both of the assistants got sick or were out. Sometimes there are critical messages that a provider my need to address unfinished business.

JBS, it's mainly for my MAs. So they send me a patient message. When I reply I send it back to NURSING because if I send it back to the MA who sent it and the patient calls back before they are able to call them back but the other MA answers the phone. Then they have to put the patient on hold and wait for the other MA to finish whatever it is she is doing to answer the message. When I send to the NURSING box where either one of them can view it, they have to remember to check that box throughout the day along with their personal box. Since I'm the only provider we currently don't use the PROVIDERS box. Does that make sense? If they could view both (and maybe have them color coded) then the need to change back and forth would be gone. It could be like Google Calender where you can select which calendars you want to see (which inboxes) and what color the different ones should look like in the master inbox.

Scott, do you only have two MA's? If so, when you reply, instead of sending to Nursing, just cc the second MA and you can avoid the issue you describe. That also avoids the issue of them having to remember to check the Nursing box as well.
Naeem, it sounds like what you are talking about is not a daily thing, but viewing others' boxes when they are off. Perhaps logging into their account and checking their messages when they are sick is the logical way to handle that now.
I am not saying that the ability to view multiple inboxes is unnecessary;just that there may be ways around it.

JBS. The problem with CCing the other MA is that they will not know if one of them has completed the task without walking down and asking them. We could get multiple messages saved to the chart too which really clutters things up.
