Hi,
One of the docs here is able to submit year 2, 3 months of MU 1. As AC is now certified, can she do this now? Can one pick any months this year?
thx

The reporting period must be a calendar quarter.

I am eligible to submit for MU2 for 2014, having already done MU1 the maximum number of years. With the Aug 30,2014 update Jon referenced, are they saying I could submit for MU1 again? Could I just use a 90 day reporting period Oct-Dec 2014?

I still did not understand. I have 7.1.2. I have done stage 1 three times now, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Does it mean that I can do stage 1 again with AC 7.1.2. 2014 certified?

I think you can use Stage 1 for 3 months again. "The 2014 CEHRT Rule allows providers to meet meaningful use with EHRs certified to the 2011 or 2014 Edition criteria or a combination of both Editions for an EHR reporting period (3 months) in 2014." See this chart. Note that the final choice of Stage 1 or 2 is determined by you (lower right on the chart: "Provider Selects Stage").

In case someone hasn't seen the latest figures, Medical Economics has published the latest MU2 attestation numbers on line. The rates of MU2 attestation are pitiful IMHO, and (despite the CMS spokesman's optimism), will likely not go up much, since the new Final Rule lets us attest again using Stage 1 criteria. Just more proof of the irrelevance of CMS's wrongheaded approach to integrating tech and medical practice.

has anyone actually looked at MU2? one of the non optional menu item sets is " imports IMAGE electronically into chart" I am pretty sure AC cannot do that and how they are going to get that going in one month or 4 months I don't know that menu item is mandatory for me since you have to pick 3 and our state does not accept syndromic or cancer surveillance data from EPs Guess I will do Meaningless Use Stage 1 using 2014 criteria because for $4000 and 3 months of extra clicks ( about 30 extra minutes per day or about 10 hours total or $400 per hour ) it might be almost worth it but for one year and all that extra clicking not worth the year 5 2000 pay out.
