Hi
I am helping my wife and her partner implement Updox into their practice. One issue I am having is with the secure messaging. I would like her to get a notification if one of her patients sends a secure message, same for her partner. I really would not want them both to get notifications of every secure message that comes into Updox. I can't see a way to accomplish this. All secure messages go to the Updox interface, and not to a particular person. Anyone know how to work around this?
Thanks
John

John,
Welcome to the user board. We have multiple physicians in our group, but we each have our own Updox fax # and accounts. We all are using Updox a bit differently, some using the patient portal some not.
Are you asking about the secure messaging within the patient portal or outside the patient portal?
If you are asking about secure messaging within the patient portal, I can help a bit and would suggest setting up an Updox account for each physician, in which you would have 3 users in each account.
If your question deals with secure messaging outside the patient portal, I have not done much of that and not sure how to help.

Thanks. I am referring to secure messaging inside the portal.
Are you able to link multiple Updox accounts to the same AC database?

John, In our office we do not have any PA's or NP's so we have individual AC/Updox accounts for each physician, so I do not know the answer to your question. Sorry.

I probably shouldn't answer this because a) I have been using the patient portal for less than a week and b) I probably don't understand the question. I can only say what we have, which is an Patient Portal by Updox on every computer and they all go to AC, which only has one database.

OK, so I registered for the UpDox portal via the button on the Ac website. I got a one line Email back, saying Welcome with my name. How does one actually get the portal, Bert?

I can send you an invite that gets you the free portal, or I believe there is a link somewhere on the Updox site.

Thanks, Indy, a quick check check of their website didn't find it, so if you can send invite, I would appreciate it. I only saw their usual free trial listed.

Hi Indy. Is the Fr3ee updox actually free, or just a trial? I downloaded the app to install to my PC, and the legal agreement had a clause about 15 day free, the notification. I also want to make sure that I can test this out on my PC alone (I am practice manager) prior to releasing it to MD and staff. That should be fine, right?

Here is a post that spells out the three different offerings from Updox now. http://amazingcharts.com/ub/ubbthreads.php/topics/60618/Updox_Patient_Portal_vs_Full_U#Post60618The free (from Updox) does secure messaging, but doesn't have the AC integration, but will let you get a feel for some things. If you want it to connect to the AC database as part of your testing, you'll need to do the trial, and that requires that the Updox central gets installed on the AC 'server'. Private Message me if you want to have a quick call to understand your options.

Indy,
So many questions about this Patient Portal...
I know that it is just secure messaging and being able to send labs, CCD, visit notes, ect. My questions is in regards to the set up. There will only be a few of us in the office who will be communicating with the patient in this way. I know that I need to install Updox Central on the main server containing the patient data. Whose email do I set it up with? Would that be mine(Practice Manager) since I am the one that controls it? The doctor himself will not be communicating with the patients, just the nurses and myself.
Also we have Updox "Free", so do I do something with that or do I do a whole separate registration?
